Footnotes:
Several policies which support the user of social and health care with particular need of
communication in social and health setting. It is observed that people with learning and sensory
disabilities have particular communication need, so it is important for the care workers to be
ready to face these needs. To overcome the communication needs it is better to have a plan of
action. It is possible when process of interaction in the social and health care becomes easier by
that clients gets an opportunity to express them (Reeves, et. al., 2011). The staff should ask
relevant question to the client and try to adopt the communication style of client, which would
clear the gap of communication among them, and this will fulfill the need of communication.

Another strategy, which would be helpful, that is observing and understanding the non-verbal
signal given by the client with particular communication need. For a successful communication
process, it is necessary that care workers should structure their talk and associate it with certain
objectives (Corcoran, 2013).

Training: training to the employees is very essential to make the communication better, because
there are several patients who cannot speak or write. These patients talk through gestures. So
organization should provide training of these signs and code language to their employees
(Bennett, 2010).
Relationship building session: to improve the communication process, company must conduct a
session in which patients, staff will sit together and share their views, and thoughts, which will
be helpful in understanding to each other and this session, will build strong relationship.
Execution of legal policies: this approach will be helpful because it will force the employee to be
disciplined and behave properly with the patients and most importantly use correct word while
talking to patients (Thompson, et. al., 2011).
