Introduction
Communication technology is considered to be important components due to increase in digital
transformation in the marketplace and workplace. Various human resource activities involve digital
technology and platform in order to process more effectively. From this report the discussion would
include communication tool while using digital communication tool for the objective of keeping
employee motivated to perform better. The communication is one of the major factors that will reflect
the level of motivational mong the employees. The evidence reflects that the free communication
would be responsible for increase in job satisfaction for the employees. Thus the report will include
communication technological use for motivating within the organization (Yuan et al, 2013).

Communication tools for motivating employee
Some of the tools reflected through the research included micro blogging, email communication, and
social media communication. Considering Maslow’s motivating theory, it has been analysed that the
individuals have level and hierarchy when it comes to motivation. The second base for the hierarchy
includes social belonging, which reflect the role of communication in motivation. Thus, for increase
the level of communication interaction among the employee, especially in case of different
management level. Therefore, using communication technology the major uses would include cloud
computing that is to increasing free communication, communication without physical appearances.
Moreover other uses identified for digital or clout computing would include understanding
subordinates for organisational behaviour and motivate the employees as per their needs. Moreover
understanding one other point of view and direction for the work would also be possible through
cloud communication like social media communication(Rajhans, 2012).
Advantages
Some of the advantage of communication technology as digital communication platform like social
media platform for motivating employee
1. Friendly working environment - the social communication will keep the employee keep in
touch and interact freely on daily basis which will reflect the social needs of the employees.
Thus will eventually motivate the employees by increasing the informal communication.
2. Dissemination of videos and quotes that would be motivating for employee to grow - The
information, quotes and motivating videos shared by higher authority to the employees will
impact the everyday working mindset and motivation, especially for the new comers in the
organization. Moreover social media platform may use as the way of orientation for new
joining.
3. Organizational behaviour - Through the thoughts shared by individuals may help the
managers to understand the personal professional problems faced by the employees, which

Disadvantages
1. Engage employee may decrease the productivity – Through such communication technology, the
employees may engage more and this may also impact the level of productivity for the
employees.
2. Information ignorance – In case of important communication by higher management to the
subordinates or with team through social media platforms may lead to ignorance of the
information due to large number of messages as all the employee would be engage in such
system(Njoroge & Yazdanifard, 2014).
3. Security issue- In case of use of cloud technology, internet and technological system may led to
the risk of security in terms of viruses and misuse of the information shared. For instance hacking
of employees accounts could be one of the disadvantages of communication technology.
4. Technical issue – since with the use of communication technology, miscommunication is one of
the risk involve while using technology as there are higher chances of technological damage or
issue, which will impact the speed of communication among the team and organization.
5. Negative influence – In case of the employees with the objective of degrading one another may
lead to bullying of one another which will act as negative communication and influence for all
the employees in the organization with the use of cloud communication or may also lead to
cyberbullying as part of personal grudges of two employees. This will demotivate the employees
instead of motivating employees (Bonaccio & O'Reilly, 2016).
Factors/ resources for communication technology implementation
1. System and network development – in order to implement the technological aspect in the
organization, the first factor that will be responsible for the implementation is development of
good system and since the network will be the connecting component of the cloud

resource.
2. Social media pages creation – The social media platform is one of the key tools used as
communication technology in motivating employee as this will allow the employees to share
their everyday thoughts that may motivate other to perform and grow as well. Thus, the
creation of attractive social media pages will be one of the important factors for implementing
communication technology with the purpose of motivation.
3. Message creation – Another relevant factor would be creation of useful message so as to
convey through digital tool and make the message understood in the same perception to the
reader (Darics, 2016).
Recommendations
1. Effective HR policy is one of the recommended strategies for human resource management.
The reason being the employees must be restricted to use the social media platform, as this
must promote free communication but restricting the use of time should also be part of policy
so that the productivity is not been impacted due to use of communication technology.
2. Anti cyberbullying strategy – Cyberbullying must be identified on the early stages so as to
avoid this issue for the managers and employee. Moreover the employees must be asked to
share only positive thoughts on such communication platform, and does not misuse for
personal grudges (Jhonson, 2019).

From communication technology report, it can be concluded that a proper communication solution
is considered imperative for the success of the organization; which reflect the role of
communication in motivation. Micro blogging, email communication, and social media
communication are some of the tools increase interaction among employee of different management
level. Major uses using communication technology is to increase free communication, motivate the
employees, and understanding organisational behaviour.
