INTRODUCTION
Business communication means the transfer or exchange of feelings or ideas.
Communication is necessary for bringing dual understanding between the two that are talking.
Mainly the business communication include consumer relations, promotion and brand
management. This topic is going to capture some internal studies of business communication
such as general theories of firm communication, barrier of communication, strategies to
overcome these barriers. While understanding these aspects this report will also going to tell
about how Brit-tech company used these strategies to overcome barriers and started their
organisation work place back like it used to work before.
MAIN BODY
Theories of organisational communication
7C's of communication theories
Clear- Any message related to business should have to be clear and perfect so that the receiver
can understand it clearly , this also says that there must be only one message conveyed to
receiver for clear learning.
Correct- When there will be so many mails send by an organisation to its employees and for
faster replies to these mails employees may make spelling mistake. So this C in a firm tells about
ensuring correct replies and correct communication too.
Complete- Employers or employees should exchange the complete organisation to each other for
better understanding example;- sending a letter by saying like “Let's get in touch tomorrow” is a
bad way of communication. “let's meet tomorrow at 3:00 pm for discussion on XYZ” is a good
way of communication.
Concise- In This C an employee in the organisation to get more attention by upper authority
they create mail or notice or report of long writing and uses some words as a filters it in turns
limit their productivity. Which wastes the time of sender as well as receiver.
Concrete- An employee need to believe in himself when he is trying to convey his concept to
someone. Concreteness is the basic quality that make a marketer or sales man the king of their
particular market.
Coherent- All of the mails or report of an employee should be attachable to the main topic, it
should have to be in logical flow for example- “hello x thank you for submitting your file, z will

send you the feedback and z also want to know if you are available for client meeting tomorrow”
is a bad way of communication as they are getting out of the main topic.
Courteous- To be courteous in corporate sector is very important for a employee. Employees
that are working with each other are not merely friends and therefore to maintain healthy
working environment, being courteous is very necessary.
Bureaucracy
The business communication theory of bureaucracy is developed by a sociologist of
German to symbolize, an perfect form of organization. A business showing a high level of
business structure , in way of communication. This theory assumes that a hierarchical approach
is followed in organisation which says that one will command another and another will another
from top to middle to lower management. Bureaucracy arrives in organisational communication
from the old school (Russell, D.R., 2020). This is important to organizational communication,
because it effects in a firm strictly and controls the workers and absolute chain of sender and
receiver or command and structure. FBI, CIA, USM , PS are the examples of some bureaucracy
organisation.
Barriers of communication
There are various barriers of communication that are affecting employees in coming to work
place or working in back to work place as covid has started this new trend of work from home
and it has drastically affected industries and its culture, in now a days employees are more
vulnerable with working from home than coming to office(Bayazovna, G.N.2019). Some of the
barriers of communication are as follow:-
Physical Barrier- Employees has become more lazy and they are loving to be in their comfort
zone. Taking transport or travelling long is what mostly peoples are not ready to do. this can be
due to change of mind or threat of covid, this has leaded many peoples to die and because of this
pandemic peoples have even stopped thinking of future also there are some physical factors in
organisation that employees doesn't like in work place such as poor architecture it means badly
designed place of works the distance between seniors and juniors are so long i.e seniors are
having their office in another building or floor, in comfortable sitting arrangements like the place
where the employees sits are not comfortable, high level of noise in office may create
disturbance in work or may lead to late work (Marsen,S.2020).

Emotional Barrier- More and more employees prefer to work from home because of emotional
barrier , they feel they are more productive while engaging in their schedule. Working from work
place will disturb their schedule and may affect their productivity too. There are some emotional
factors that affect employees are anger : when we get engaged in some fight or argument our
mind got disturbs and we feels like anger for sometime which may create working or relations
with colleagues, anxiety: this is one of the most common factor of emotional barrier for new
peoples anxiety is a major problem while interacting with someone else because of work from
home culture employees are becoming more and more introvert.
Organisational structure barrier- The organisational structure is also major barrier for some
employees as in work from home the hierarchy is not in control which made employees report
directly to manager but in work place they have to follow the hierarchy and have to report each
and every senior one by one. Also the major problem is employees are getting threatened of lack
of social distancing and ventilation at the work place which is may be truly life threatening for
them because of covid-19 pandemic also the employees are unexpected of what is going to
happen to them and how the return to the office will be controlled by company (Amin, M. and
Priansah, P.2019).
Perceptual barrier- Discrimination is the major issue that comes up in the mind of any
employee when they thought of working at work place. This discriminations happens due to
covid some employees prefer to get vaccinated but doest prefers to get vaccinated this may
create discrimination among employees some people may start commenting on their perception
also pandemic have made every person believe that if someone is coughing, snizzing or feeling
dizziness are positive to covid but it is not true these are the symptoms but not every person
having these symptom is suffering from covid this situation may create discrimination, people
start to cut off from that employee or may be more.
Interpersonal barriers- Lack of interpersonal skills are becoming the major problem for
employees to come to office for work at workplace(Byerly,C.M.2018). Working from home
culture have made employees highly introvert and less extrovert which is causing them
nervousness or anxiety to speak in front of people or group. It has also affected their
communication skills.

Strategies to overcome barriers in Brit-tech
Self Assessment : As everybody knows that the good communication is like a diamond stone to
make a organisation successful and thus to create good communication among employees Brit-
tech has introduced its employees to self assessment program in which they will learn to control
their emotion also they will learn how to control anger or manage stress. Analysing owns
intelligence through the own assessment could may help the employees to present a base line
crossing which an employee can measure it's performance (Soyinka, V.I.2020.).
Restoration : Brit-tech has made certain changes at their work place so that there employees
could over come the barrier of physics, Brit-tech has introduced their own vehicle which will
pick there employees from home and will take them to work place also they have made some
changes in their work place such as single work stations for single person, direct official meet for
better hierarchy(Jandevi,U.2019). Making possible the face-to-face communication without any
harm by using a major transparent plastic curtain among them. Making every single employee
know to reduce noise so that none of them get affected in there work of noise disturbance.
Terminating difference of opinion and open communication : Terminating perpetual obstacle
and open communication are two different facts but both of them helps in overcoming the
barriers. In Brit-tech, the biggest problem was different opinion regarding vaccination as 30% of
its staff was not vaccinated thus due to high percentage of employees influence and because of
government pressure Brit-tech have made up a policy of vaccination that allows only vaccinated
employees to work. Also to overcome the communication problem managers at Brit-tech took a
step forward and made open communication as a necessary task.
CONCLUSION
In this report , the communication barriers were introduced and how a UK established
Information technology company introduced some rules or factors to overcome these strategies.
This report also tells about some of the general theories of communication which include 7c's
and bureaucracy. Brit-tech in this report had set an example for each and every organisation
facing these problems
