INTRODUCTION
Business communication consist of sharing of all those information to organisational
employees and the people related to organisation outside the company. It is consist of formal
communication which is related to sharing all commercial messages for organisational benefit.
Hence, it is essential that a company have good communication strategies to enhance trust and
bonding with each other (Chen, Davison and Ou, 2020). There are various barriers of effective
communication such as personal barriers, emotional barriers, informational barriers and many
others. It is essential for every organisation to handle these barriers effectively for their success.
Communication barriers will act as hazardous and negative impact for organisation to achieve
their organisational goal. Hence, it is essential to have proper communication for an organisation
for their benefit. The following file covers theories of organisational communication, barriers of
communication preventing people getting the vaccine and government strategies to overcome
these barriers.

Theories of organisational communication
There are many communication theories which are discussed below and few of such theories are
given below-
Weber’s Classic Organizational Theory of Fixed Structures-
This is the communication theory which states that an organisation must distribute its
roles and responsibilities job effectively to their employees so that they can communicate in
effective, structural and in a clear manner (Lee and Lee, 2019). Hierarchical structural
organisations should not have any confusion in conveying their message from top to junior
employees. Here assigning roles and responsibilities to employees according to their
specialization plays an important role in passing effective communication between employees.
Here, employee's knowledge is well developed for the communication which they share to their

team because of their specialization. Hence, that's why roles and responsibilities contributed to
effective communication within an organisation.
Deetz’s Managerialism Theory-
This is type of communication theory which reflects the ways in which organisational
control and organisational communication takes place within the organisation where basic and
classical believes are replaced with economical and political interest of employees. According to
this theory, communication get impacted according to power or people and their personal interest
(Santos and Gonçalves, 2021). Here, employees must focus and understand what their colleague
want to say by their actions and emotions instead of words. Here, it is essential that employees
will maintain their good relations with each other so that they can be understood the message
which is conveyed by their team mates. Fixed norms and believes of organisation also plays an
important role in this theory.
Tompkins and Cheney’s Organizational Control Theory-
This theory suggest the ways to control communication activities effectively within an
organisation. Communication can be controlled in four ways which are mentioned below-
Simple- Here organisations give direct and open power to their employees to
communicate with each other at any way which they feel comfortable by keeping in mind
to maintain norms of their organisation effectively (Cruz-Martínez and et. al., 2020).
Technical- Here, machines are used to communicate with each other like social media,
telephones, e- mails and many others.
Bureaucratic- It consist of following some procedure and some formal rules made by a
company for their employees to communicate with each other.
Concertive- It consist of interpersonal relationship and team work of employees of an
organisation which help to communicate well with each others.
This model focuses more on fourth concept of communication which is concertive where
employees communicate with each other on the basis of their interpersonal relationship and team
work. Here, organisations must enhance the personal identity of their employees (Ain and et. al.,
2019).
Barriers of communication preventing people getting the vaccine
There are five barriers of communication preventing people getting the vaccine which are
discussed below-

Physical barrier- Most of the people are unaware about how they should book the
schedule for their vaccination. They did not know the steps or procedure for booking it. People
also think that vaccination centres are very far away from their residential.
Emotional barriers- Most of the people have trust issues related to vaccine. They think
that they will get sick after vaccinated and it will impact bad upon their health. They also avoid
vaccination because they do not want to come in contact with any individual in hospitals where
they have to wait for their chance to get vaccinated after standing in a large queues.
Information barriers- People are unaware about the positive effect of getting vaccinated
because media spread some wrong and illogical humours about vaccines (Manojlovich and et.
al., 2019). Hence, lack of knowledge about benefits of vaccine also acts an barrier of
communication preventing people getting the vaccine.
Attitudinal barrier- Some of the people have attitude issues that they did not require any
vaccination because they are not going to affected by covid disease. Hence, this attitudinal
behaviour of people are hazardous for all society because some other people will get influenced
by such people and they also avoid to take vaccines for covid.
Cultural barriers- Most of the people are not confident for their English speaking and
understanding skills (Healey and et. al., 2017). They are unable to understand the English
language well and in the vaccination centres most of the nurses and Doctors supposed to
communicate in English only which make it more anxious for people to communicate with them
and get proper vaccines.
Outline government strategies to overcome these barriers
It is essential to make proper and effective strategies to mitigate communication barriers
which prevent people to get vaccinated. Some of the strategies are suggested to PM for
enhancing and motivating people to get vaccinated as soon as possible for their health benefits
by protecting them self from covid diseases and these strategies are mentioned below-
It is suggested to PM that they must provide appropriate instruction of booking vaccine to
their population in all languages of their country. It is also helpful if various kind of
campaigns will be conducted in different parts of a country to aware people about the
steps and procedure of booking vaccines for them. These campaigns also aware people
about vaccination centres near the location of people.

It is also suggested to PM that they must aware the benefits of vaccine to people in their
live video on news channels. One of the most effective way to motivate people to get
vaccinated is that PM must communicate with the large populations ideal and ask them to
advertise the benefits of getting vaccinated to their population so that they will feel
comfortable to be vaccinated.
For removing the barrier of coming in contact of people in hospitals, PM is suggested to
introduce some strict guidelines for the staff of hospital to avoid direct communication
with patients. It is suggested that having a wall between Doctor and patient and that glass
wall must have two holes through which patients get injections for their vaccinations will
help to avoid direct communication of people with hospital staff. Secondly, it is also
ensured by all hospitals that they should not accept many bookings together in a single
day for avoiding crowd collection at hospitals.
It is also suggested to PM for taking strict actions on the sites or people who spread
wrong information about vaccines. Hence, they should provide appropriate information
about the benefits of vaccination for people through social media, TV ads and many
others.
To handle the attitudinal barrier of people PM is suggested to provide them some
examples of hazardous effects of covid on their health and they are also require to convey
the information that this disease may also cause death if the patient did not proper
treatment. It is essential for such people to get to know about how these disease spread
rapidly from one individual to other. Hence, for this PM is recommended to provide
statistics for their increasing rate of covid patients day to day.
It is also suggested to PM that they can regulate new rule for the hospitals that staff of
each hospital must have diversification culture of nurses so that they can communicate
with patients in which patient is feeling comfortable. Providing appropriate training to
staff members also help them to handle the issue of cultural barriers. It is suggested that
hospitals must provide informational instructions to their patients in both language
English as well as in local language of patient so that they can communicate easily.
It is also suggested to PM that they can allow to provide transportation facilities to rural
people to reach to hospitals and get vaccinated in free of cost.

It is concluded from the above information that business communication consist of providing
essential information for the benefit of organisation. There are various kind of theories and
models for business communication such as Weber’s Classic Organizational Theory of Fixed
Structures, Deetz’s Managerialism Theory and many others which describe the ways of
communicating effectively. There are few communication barriers which preventing people to
get vaccinated like personal barriers, emotional barriers, cultural barriers and many others. It is
essential for government to make strategies to mitigate such barriers effectively to promote their
vaccinated activities.
