INTRODUCTION
Communication is the mean of exchanging information in order to convey feelings,
information to each other (Ramiller and Wagner, 2019). This study is going to show
importance of communication in a warehouse operations for warehouse operator job
role. It will also show different types of communication by which warehouse operator
communicate and exchange information in different types of situations.
PART 1
Effective communication skills applicable to professional context
Communication: Communication refers a process or means of receiving as well as
sending information in different form in order to convey a message. Communication is a
skill which plays an important role at every field whether it is professional, education and
others. It plays a vital role in daily lives (Ahmad, s 2016).
As per the Driscoll’s model of reflection, importance of communication in a
professional context can be understood in an efficient manner by dividing it into 3 parts
and question such as:

Types of communication: There are mainly 4 types of communication by which people
exchange their messages and communicate with each others such as: verbal, non-
verbal, written and visual.
Importance of communication: People use communication and this skill in everyday
in nearly environment. Without communication, people cannot share their views, opinion
and messages. In the context of Warehouse operative job role it can be said that an
effective communication skill play as the key of the success. This skill helps warehouse
operator in communicating with suppliers and having all informations about the quantity
of inventory. An effective communication between warehouse operator and suppliers
make them able to perform their functions effectively and improve productivity (Vogel,
Meyer and Harendza, 2018).

receive list of inventory. So, they need to have skill of non-verbal in order to identify
whether suppliers are supplying proper number of products or not.
Non-verbal communication skills and way of application: In the situation of
identifying suppliers intentions and behaviors as per the job role, warehouse operator
requires to have non-verbal communication and an ability to understand human
behaviors by their facial expressions. Making an effective use of gesture and facial

communication skills helped me out in my warehouse operator job role. It helped me out

as per the situation. By using verbal skills and effective use of words and language in a
group making a decision-making process I took several feedbacks from peers which
improved decision-making process. I also came to know that making suppliers and
vendors aware about quantity and quality of products plays an important role as
suppliers have a clear guidelines in which they have to work and supply inventory and
for what they have to work. It can only be possible when warehouse operator have an
effective verbal skill (O'Reilly, 2016).
In addition, I can also say that non-verbal skills and a type of communication
plays an important role in the important function of warehouse operation such as
implementing safety regulations in an organization. This skill improves my experience
as well as performance. This skill helped me out in understanding behaviours of
suppliers and other staff of an organization by which I made the best decision of
maintaining quality of inventory. Written skill in giving feedbacks as well as E-mail also
helped me out in making aware to suppliers and company about damages of inventory
and missing items. By taking and receiving feedbacks from suppliers in a written form
helped me out to the great extent in increasing skills as well as performing in a better
way (Dubey and et.al., 2018).

types of communication such as verbal, written and others which are being used in
different situations by warehouse operator in order to exchange information.
