1. INTRODUCTION
In this report it will be described about definition of communication, its importance at work
place and barriers which affect it. Also, it will be explained about different models of
communication and theories as well. Moreover, communication skills and its methods will be
discussed in it.
Definition of Communication
Communication is considering as an act of transferring information one place, group to
other. It includes one recipient, a message and one sender. Communication is in actual a complex
subject (Bovée, Thill. and Raina, 2016). The transmitted message includes huge range of things.
It includes cultural, emotional situation as well as medium to communicate. It is also a process of
sharing ideas, feelings, information and many more.
Importance of communication at work place
Communication within workplace plays a vital role for firms to work productive and
efficiently. Here the staff members can experience productivity, morale, commitment. Staff
members who spends energy to creates a communication lines that will quickly create trust
among staff members ,resulting within productivity, overall morale. Within the same time staff
members also communicate more effective with their mangers, colleagues ,consumers who are
continue to be assets to a firm. Poor communication within workplace will also leads to non
motivated employees that can begin staff members to question their organization, their
confidence within their skills as well as Firm. Five important reasons regarding importance of
communication within workplace are
Innovation- Staff members are more likely to present their ideas without any fear. They also have
the opportunity to express their ideas without any fear. It is highly relied on the fact that
organization that promotes communication is also more inclined towards innovation.
Growth- Internally and externally communication can be seen. Every project based on solid
communication lines that assures externally delivered messages.
Effective communication- When team leaders are the strong communicators than they can

Lack of clarity- There are certain ideas that require to be understood very correctly. The
meaning of the message is understood very correctly as if not then it creates confusion and
sometimes such confusion creates conflicts.
Poor Quality of Message- When a message is consistent as well as prepared within all respects
such as precision, clarity as well as usage of correct words to express their ideas to be
transmitted
It must simple words as well as easy to understands by the recipients.
Inadequate attention- It is the data or information is less or incomplete than it is very difficult to
judge that what other person wants to continue. It also takes place face to face communication or
sometimes during phone calls also.
Lack of Trust
When there sender alters message frequently creates a lack of trust. Sometimes because
of the such delay actions also warned through message. It also happens as there were uncertain
decisions taken by the sender frequently. Hence, communication becomes ineffective as well as
various additions or alterations . It is also considered as lack of confidence.
This report examine these issues of communication such as lack of clarity, Poor
communication, inadequate attention and many more. Here within my workplace such situation
has arisen in which there was lack of clarity. Within my workplace it is also suffered from poor
quality message and lack of clarity and sometimes because of it creates conflicts as well.
So, it is summarised that as per case study of Mario and Pedro is taken where lack
of clarity is barrier in communication. When Maria called her husband she said to bring
chicken but when pedro reached he said he heard kitchen.

communication can be done . Such models show the process in symbols and metaphorically.

or written form called as Written communication. It is considered as more trustable mode of
communication as it can be highly preferred within business as it is sophisticated and formal
within nature as well as more reliable one (Sarratt. and Jhala, 2015). There are various channels
of such communication such as email, journals, newspaper, reports, text messages and many
more.
Non verbal communication- These are the one that focuses on gestures, tone of voice, facial
expressions, eye contact, body language as well as other ways where human beings can
communication without using any language.
