Perception of CBT: A Case Study in Birishiri, Netrokona, Bangladesh

This internship report, submitted to the University of Dhaka, examines the perception of local communities regarding Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Birishiri, Netrokona, Bangladesh. The study explores the benefits and challenges of CBT, analyzing its economic, social, environmental, cultural, and educational impacts. The report includes a literature review, details on CBT background, activities offered to tourists, and research methodology, including both primary and secondary data collection. Findings reveal potential benefits such as equitable wealth distribution, empowerment of locals, and cultural preservation, while also highlighting challenges like infrastructure limitations and local attitudes. The report concludes with policy implications and strategies for establishing Birishiri as a successful CBT destination.
