Introduction of the agency
The agency here situated at Glenaurie is run with the perspective of helping people
out. Just like any other Social work agency, Marigold Community Center has the aim to
support individuals who are trying to survive in the country and do not have efficient sources.
Some of the people that the agency works for include individuals who do not have homes or
are struggling with property issues, individuals with gambling or drug problems, helping out
children or people with disabilities, even people with relationship issues and so on. Whatever
kind of assistance is required; the agency tries to provide the same to uplift the society in the
best manner possible.
The Case
The case is about a family that has similar issues. The mother here, Jen is the one that
has been in a constant contact with me and has been trying to resolve the issues. Jen has a
gambling problem though her intentions are good but this habit of hers has been causing
problems for her. Apart from this, her partner Mick is also a meth addict. He has tried to
recover from it and lose the addiction but he has not been able to. Apart from this, she has
children as well two daughters, Hanna and Bessie. Bessie is Autistic and can only bond with
her sister apart from that she gets triggered when things are not a certain way. Bessie has
been now getting help with her disability from the Autism Early Intervention and Therapy
Centre at the Westmead Children’s Hospital while, the other daughter, Hanna has been doing
fine apart from the occasional issues at home due to her parent’s condition.
An intervention of a policy is required in this case as due to patients like Jen, the
Agency can get indulged in legal issues very fast. Since, most of the people that associate

with this agency include individuals with issues there is a high chance that the agency will get
involved in some or the other legal way. Though Jen in this case has no bad intentions
towards the agency, her activities have made it difficult for the agency to function. As she is
currently being charged for theft and fraud as well, agency will also ultimately have to get
involved in order to protect it’s goodwill in the market (Mullaly, 2010). People like Jen and
Mick are quite unpredictable to what they might do in the future, there can be events of
relapses or abuse or even criminal capacity can endanger the lives of people surrounding

about Jen or for that matter anyone. Hence, to protect the agency from such harm, policy
