INTRODUCTION
Community engagement is that termed which is defined as a process in order to work
with community groups in collaborate manner in addressing various issues or problems that
impact on well being of that particular group. It is also known as the planned two way process in
which opportunity has been given to groups of individuals in order to provide input that may
enhance process of making decisions. Thus, BBC has been taken into consideration in this
report. It is a British public service broadcaster that has been headquartered in Westminster,
London.
In the following report, reflection has been done on the personal experience with
reference to a particular organisation BBC. This reflection is done with the help of Gibbs
Reflective cycle.
PART B
Clear understanding of a nature and purpose of reflective practice with one theoretical model of
reflection.
Reflective practice is that process which seeks in order to enable insights and also aid in
learning new personal understanding, knowledge and also action (Sacouman, 2018). This later
helps in enhancing our self development and also the professional performance. The main
purpose of this type of practice is to reflect on action of a particular individual so that they can
get engaged into process of continuous learning. Further, it is the way in order to study about
own experiences and later improve way of doing any kind of work. It thus leads in raising the
confidence level. It is significant to conduct this kind of practice as it aids in enhancing skills and
knowledge via process of continuous practice. It also helps In understanding what individual
actually knows, identify what is required or needed and make choice accordingly.
Thus, Gibbs model has been used that helps me in reflecting my own experience in
conducting this research on BBC. This learning cycle is a model which is basically used as a
framework or tool in assignments and was created by Graham Gibbs. The main aim and purpose
of this cycle of reflection is to make people think about their own experience, activities or events
in detail manner. This also leads them in making aware about the actions or plans that has been
undertaken and also increase ability to adjust and change as per situation. In addition to this, this

cycle leads particular individual to learn from it either considering positive impacts or negative
ones.
Reflection on personal experience and learning throughout the whole activity.
Personal reflection is defined as a response in terms of particular stimulus. It is also
known as an opportunity in order to reconsider events, thoughts and also feelings from that of
fresh perspective (Craig Henry, 2018).
Thus, throughout the whole activity, I learned out that BBC is one of the oldest structure
of national medium in the whole world. The size of a particular business is quite huge having
maximum number of floor space and huge volume of employees. It was really a great feeling to
research on such a huge organisation having high turnover and reputation. I also analysed that
their main goal was just to provide news that is desired by customers and increase loyalty
customer base.
I conducted a survey with employees and customers. This survey helped me in
identifying various requirements and views of both customers and employees. Firstly I asked
some organisation related questions to employees from which I found out that BBC is working in
really excellent manner in making employees happy. Employees of that particular organisation
shared their vies that BBC always motivate their workers with incentives by considering the
level of performance and efforts that has been pushed by them. They all also agreed that they are
respected and valued from the superiors and managers. This provokes them to give their extreme
efforts to a particular work so that it can increase the productivity of an organisation.
Later, I conducted survey with customers in which I asked them about information that is
provided by a particular organisation that is BBC. Customers firstly shared their views and
beliefs in terms of a company. They actually demand from clear and good value information
from them which is actual and honest. And all these expectations of them are being fulfilled by
BBC. They always try to provide good value and honest information to customers. They also
provide with good advertisements that attracts them easily to them.
Further, I also conducted survey related to advertisements problems of Amazon. BBC
took long time duration in promoting their product to customers. So Amazon complaint about
this problem that has been faced by them to the board. So it was really tough task for me to
provide recommendations in overcoming such problems. But later I analysed that BBC news
overcome this by giving them additional time in order to promote their products in market to

potential customers. I also had to find out strengths, weakness of particular company along with
opportunities and threats. Thus, BBC is the leading Broadcaster company so it was very difficult
for me to analyse the factors that may affect its growth and sustainability.
Reflection on relationship between relevant theories and experience.
As discussed above that Gibbs model has been taken into consideration. It is a popular
model in terms of reflection (Christensen and Grant, 2016). Thus, it has been discussed as per the
below context-
Description
I will be explaining the problems that has been faced by me while researching on
problems related to Amazon as long time duration in terms of promoting their products and
services through BBC news. I was told to outcome the complete research regarding the problem
so that useful suggestions can be find out for Amazon and BBC news in increasing their
productivity and overcoming the obstacles that has been faced by them. I was with my whole
team while conducting this research. I tried to gather information from employees of and also
customers of BBC with help of surveys. Thus, other people those who were involved with me

were also helping me in this task completely. This survey helped me in analysing where BBC
news were actually lacking and therefore where they need to actually improve.
Feelings
I really felt good when I was asked to find solutions for situations that has been faced by
BBC. I felt positive and motivated. Thus, this motivation had positive impact on me and gave me
inspiration to study on this report and make recommendations accordingly. In addition to this,
other people who were involved with me in this particular task were also willing to know about
this study. I feel that after BBC gave extended duration time to Amazon for advertisements in
order to promote goods and services was good to maintain relationship with customers and also
in developing new relations with potential customers. And I think that all members are also
agreeing with this solution (Kvale, 2017).
Evaluation
I analysed that BBC has to face number of challenges as it is one of the most leading
broadcaster in order to gain high level of competitive advantage. Thus, identifying all the factors
that may affect the business environment internally and also externally may lead me in positive
way in future in order to start up in any kind of business. I required huge amount of resources in
terms of budget and also time to find out complete and true information regarding project that
has been allocated to me. I also evaluated from this that it can help me in my future in a positive
way.
Analysis
From this research, I have analysed that maintaining relationship with customers plays
very significant role in building loyalty customer base that later helps in achieving long term
profitability and high productivity (Chilvers, 2017). Therefore, BBC news also has to adopt some
unique measures that will help them in further improvements. In addition to this, I also analysed
that BBC must also offer special offers which will encourage customers to use their services and
products. I suppose that they must send free gifts to their all time customers in order to maintain
good relation with them. This will help them in increasing sales and business turnover. This was
actually a great feeling for me to find out various solutions that can be adopted by BBC to
maintain to fulfil needs of Amazon and all other customers of a particular organisation.
Conclusion

From the above learning cycle and description that has been undertaken, it has been
concluded that maintaining relation and using appropriate strategy to conduct a particular
business plays very significant role in any kind of organisation. If I would have to handle all
these situations than I would have use different strategies or measures to overcome this problem.
I would have used loyalty cards for customers that would have encouraged them in such way that
may lead them in coming back to the same business. This type of card means points are added
according to the customers using a particular service. The points that are added will further be
used in some kind of rewards as discount that I must have given on other services or promotion.
Action plan
I have analysed that they should work on the staffs that are involved with them in a
particular organisation. By taking a particular situation in terms of delay in promoting products
of Amazon in consideration. Then, staffs must have time management ability so that this type of
issue would not occur. I will suggest them to take appropriate action in order to overcome such
obstacle. For this they can make use of training and coaching of employees so that it can assist
them in building their ability in terms of time management. This appropriate action may be time
consuming and may require huge resources, but it will help the cited organisation in present and
also in future improvements.
Key issues that has been encountered during role play activities.
Role play activity is termed as an activity in terms of speaking about self by keeping at
others place (Christine Fanthome, 2015). In this type of activity individual adopt image of
anyone for a particular time to play a role on. There were various issues that I had to face while
conducting role play activities. These problems and issues has been discussed as per below
context-
 Limited time- it is very essential to organise this role playing activities with ample of
time so that all members are engaged in a way that is termed as meaningful. Maximum
time is required to follow the reflection without getting rushed out because of lack of
time.
 Limited access to resources- Internet and computer plays very essential role in
conducting reflection or role play activities. Thus, maximum level f access is necessary
towards these resources in order to reach a particular problem and also in finding
appropriate solutions to this.

 Lack of social skills and unwillingness to participate-some of them are not much willing
to participate or may not exhibit skills that is actually required in such type of activities.
Therefore, those members must be provided by certain boundaries with role guidelines
and later the activities must be organised in safe and also in caring environment in terms
of learning. This environment should be in such manner where risk taking ability is
encouraged and individual can easily share their thoughts and also perspectives at the
end.
While, I was good in time management. I was having maximum time in order to engage in a
particular way in terms of gathering information. It was the most successful thing for me. In
addition to this, negative thing was that I was having lack of resources as internet and computer
which would have helped me in gathering adequate solutions. This made my task difficult took
my maximum time.
CONCLUSION
From the above assessment it has been concluded that BBC has to face huge challenges
due to its brand image and maintaining customers loyalty towards it. Further, reflection has been
done with help of Gibbs cycle in which personal experience while conducting research on BBC
in terms of problems that has been faced by them and also overcoming challenges by providing
certain recommendations for future improvements. In addition to this, from the above report, it
has also been analysed that various issues has been faced by individual during role play
activities.
