INTRODUCTION
The community engagement is the process through which the people within the company
works in group of people and work on a common goal or the objective (Li and et.al., 2020). This
is majorly essential to work in community engagement and collaboration with one another as if
the efforts of the people within the company will not be coordinated then this will have a great
impact over the working of the company. The present reflection is based over the company
Costa Cruises which is an Italian cruise line and is founded in 1854. The present report will
outline the reflection on the development of the different skills like self- management,
communication and the interpersonal skills. This reflection will be illustrated with help of the
Gibbs reflective cycle and all the stages of this model will evaluate the learning with the help of
the company Costa Cruises.
Reflection
With the help of the working within the company Costa Cruises I learnt that the working
in a team is a very hard and tough work for the person. This is majorly because of the reason that
when the people will not work in the proper and effective manner then this will have a great
impact over the working of the people and the overall working of the company. Thus, with his I
learnt that the team working skills is the most important to be inherited in the person for working
in the global organization like Costa Cruises. But then after working within the company I
realised that the team working skills are little less competent in me. The major reason behind
this fact is that when I was supposed to work within the team then at that time I faced a little
problem in interacting with the other people. But in against of this as the communication skills
was good in me this assisted me in dealing with the other team members. Thus, the good
communication skills helped me in dealing with the team and as I was confident and good at
communicating this helped me to a great extent in working in a team.
As the working within the Costa Cruises was taking place I felt that my interpersonal
skill also developed. The major reason behind this feeling is that these interpersonal skills
helped in dealing in the day- to- day communication and also assisted me at time of interacting
with other people. This also included good listening ability and because of this good listening
ability I was able to first clearly listen what is the requirement and the I supposed to work. Thus,
this active listening skill helped me in interacting in good and effective manner. Personally I feel

that because of this active listening skill only I was able to first understand the requirement of
the other person saying and then I first clearly understood the requirement and then in
accordance to it the action was taken. Thus, this resulted in proper and effective management of
the work and as per the requirement only. In addition to this I felt the time management skill of
me was good as I was able to manage all my work in easy way and this helped me in managing
all my work on time. But there is a little step to be taken by me at time of managing the work
and multiple project at same time (Markkanen and et.al, 2020). This is majorly because of the
fact that though time management is good but I need to improve a little and work more on the
time management skills so that I gain a competitive position in the company.
During the entire journey, I evaluate that I contribute my best in order to manage the
things in better manner. Such that whenever I think that I face any issue, I took a help from my
tutor in order to generate the best outcome. As while performing the assignment, I experience
good as well as bad things but learn so many things. Like, my interpersonal skills are enhanced
like, motivation and leadership skills which will also help me in future. Further, I also uses
different model and theories which clearly reflected I am having strong research skills. As I was
performing the task 1, I evaluate that earlier I only thoroughly study on theory but when I
actually apply the same in Costa Cruises, I realize that theory and models plays an important
role before taking any decision (E-portfolio, 2019). Hence, I evaluate that theory inform practice
and it also provides insights into interpreting the behavior contextually. Thus, during performing
the task 1 I evaluated that there are some terms which I cannot understand and that is why, I feel
bad and at that time, I take a help from the tutor in order to generate the best outcome.
Therefore, I evaluated that I positively contributed to the work and as a result, I am
deliver the best outcome, but on the the side,ii also evaluate that there are some weakness which
need to be strong whenever I perform the work in my future. Such that time management skill
and team work which affect the entire project in negative manner. Also, these skills needs to be
effective because if the work planning is not done in better manner, then entire plan failed and I
will not able to attain the define objectives. Hence, I evaluate that I put my all efforts but due to
lack of time management skills, the work affected up to some level, but with the help of my
teacher and relevant content, I am able to deliver the project in better manner.
I think the reason of dividing the work as per the define slot went well because it shows I
posses a strong interpersonal skill which creates positive impact upon the project and that is

why, I a able to deliver the project. On the other side, I also have a self- management skills, due
to which I am able to manage the work and complete the same. As there are some bad
experience which I realize from the study that is due to not working in a group, I some how not
able to get others opinion in any subject and this in turn affect the results. For example, If we
work in a group, then we all discuss the things in order to make the decision better manner,
while in the case of individual working (Tawanwongsri and Phenwan, 2019), I am not able to
discuss the things. Also, by applying different theory and practices within task 1, I got to
analyze that this will assist me to support the answer and present the same in better manner.
With the help of effective research skill and communication, I perform the work in better
manner and achieve the target as well.
There are some adverse situation, from which I analyze that communication skill and
strong interpersonal skills will help me to meet the define aim. Such that, I am enough motivated
to perform the task related to Costa Cruises and gain enough knowledge about the specified task
as well. But on the other side, I realize that before staring the project, I made a strategy and
divide the work in proper manner and also set benchmark in order to track my performance. In
this manner, I complete the work and able to meet the set target as well. So, I can state that the
entire journey of the task is good because I am able to learn the things and raise three main skill
i.e. self management, communication and Interpersonal skill which will also help me in my
future upcoming projects. At the end, when project is about to complete I feel stress less and
happy because I am satisfied with the work.
In the end it is concluded that for working in the company or the corporate sector it is
very essential for the person to possess the skills and attributes which make it easier for the
person to work. With the above whole discussion, I gained the knowledge that the
communication skill, interpersonal skill, active listening is good in me and I need to keep on
improving it. But on the other side with the help of evaluation and analysis of the other skills I
learnt that the team working skill and the time management skill are weak in me and for this the
action plan is created. Under the action plan the strategies for improving it are made like proper
delegation of activities, proper prioritising and many other strategies for the improvement of the
skills.
I need to effectively focus on my time management skills by effectively developing and
competing the task in a significant and reliable manner. I will focus on effectively developing

the time management skills by effectively prioritizing the key relevant task related with the
project. It helps in examining the clear set of picture and effectively developing the relevant set
of the clear picture to attain the main aim and objectives of the project. I have effective skills to
manage the stress of the company and appropriately setting the goals which helps in the better
development of the skills. The researcher of the study must relevantly focus on the improving
the time management skills because it will be useful for the better delegation of the work. This
helps in the timely completion of the project by assigning the key task up to the relevant set of
skills of the individual person. I will also focus on effectively delegating the task and also
creating the relevant set of schedule according to how the study will be carried out. I must
effectively focus on setting up the relevant set of deadlines to complete specific task of the
project and avoid multitasking. Improvement within the time management skills of the person
will help me to be highly focused and self aware in order to effectively manage distractions. I
also believe that, team work is of key significance importance. It helps me in taking necessary
set of decision and helps in solving wide range of problems in a significant and efficient manner.
I will significantly focus on giving feedback in order to improve the degree and quality of work.
Influencing skills and persuasion skills are considered to be of key relevance in order to
effectively improve the teamwork associated with the project. I have effective set of skills for
the management of the conflict. I believe that, I need to develop the appropriate set of rapport to
listen and effectively improve the relevant set of outcomes. In order to effectively develop the
team work skills, I will focus on building up mutual trust and respect within the group. I will
also focus on effectively cultivating the open communication and clearly assigning the key roles
and responsibilities to each group member so that aim and objectives can be attained and leads
to better results and outcomes. I will also focus on organizing the team process and setting the
defined set of goals. I will also focus on socializing which helps me in effectively improving the
teamwork skills and time management skills.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above report it has been concluded that by using the model of Gibbs
reflective cycle, I am able to meet the define aim and present the entire work in better manner.
Throughout the research, I concluded that there are some skills which I raise i.e. self
management, research skills, communication and interpersonal skills which assist me or support

to achieve the define work. On the other side, I also concluded some weakness i.e. time
management and team work abilities. Hence, in my future when I perform the same work, I
make sure to work in a group so that it will assist to conduct the study in more better manner.
