TASK 2
Reflection
Me and my classmates were asked to conduct Community Fieldwork Report. I am
currently living in Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia therefore I select this area t conduct the field
work. In order to share my working experience with others I am going to use Gibbs Reflective
Cycle which was developed by Graham Gibbs. It is a combination of six different elements
which are focused by individuals while sharing their experience with others. These are
Description, Feelings, Evaluation, Analysis, Conclusion and Action plan. All these elements in
the context of my research are discussed below:
Description: While studying in the university all the students in the class assigned with a
project of community fieldwork report. All of us are required to take our home town or a small
suburb of a large city in which we are living (Catto, 2017). Main purpose of this project is to
gather information regarding health issues and actual status of it. While conducting the research
all the students were directed to base their matter which is recorded in the report on the pictures
of community which is selected by us for the fieldwork. I conducted my study on Cranbourne.
Different pictures were clicked by me and taken from online sources in order to complete my
project in appropriate manner. While conducting the research my experience was very good
because I interacted with various people who guided me to gather appropriate information. This
project also allowed me to enhance my knowledge regarding my community.
Feelings: When I was conducting the community fieldwork I thought that it will be very
difficult to analyse detailed information of the area. When I started to work of the project I felt
that it is not that tough because when we show interest in our work it makes the work easier. This
fieldwork enhanced my self awareness regarding different types of diseases which are affecting
the community. These are obesity, pollen, asthma, different allergens etc. With the help of the
research I was able to gather information regarding history regarding Cranbourne. The project
guided me to analyse social and cultural environment of the community which is followed by all
the individuals who are living here. It was very beneficial for me for personal growth because
with the help of the research I could get aware of the situations which are affecting the area in
negative manner. All the activities which were performed by me while conducting the research I
recognised that it can help me for personal growth because it has helped me to enhance my skills.

Evaluation: When I was working on the project of formulating community fieldwork
report I experienced some good as well as bad things. The good things were cooperation of
people who are living in Cranbourne, enhanced knowledge regarding the area and the diseases
which are affecting it. The bad things which are experiences by me were some difficulties which
were faced by me when I was visiting different places. It was very difficult to visit different
places and collect information regarding them. One more bad experience of mine was watching
individuals including adults who are dealing with infections and chronic illnesses. I have
observed that all these issues are affecting their health due to involvement of them in drinking,
smoking etc.
Analysis: Fieldwork experience of mine sense that in Cranbourne most of the individuals
are dealing with health issues such as obesity, asthma etc. In order to deal with all such types of
problems it is very important for the legal authorities to take strict actions and the people who are
living there should get aware of the causes of all of them (Boase and Humphreys, 2018). It can
help them to fight against them and deal with health issues. Detailed information about health
problems is being discovered by me which were not seen previously. I have observed that there
are end number of diseases which are creating health problems for individuals living in
Cranbourne.
Conclusion: For this project I would have been done research in more detail which will
be beneficial for me to conduct the study in more depth. While working on the community
fieldwork report I identified different indirect aspects which are affecting health of people living
in Cranbourne. These are lack of nutritional value, smoking, drinking, lack of physical
engagement of individuals etc. All these elements are affecting health of people who are living in
the community (Hallman and Burdick, 2015). Experience of current research will be beneficial
for me in future as it will provide me guidance to deal with challenges which were faced by me
this time.
Action plan: If I get the same opportunity again in future then I will make sure that the I
conduct analysis in more depth. Next time I will be more experiences which will help me to deal
with all the bad events which were faced by me this time. According to me high level of
articulating and presenting the discoveries that have changes the way of my views in the context
of Cranbourne. The current research could be applied in clinical practice because with the help of
it data regarding health issues which are faced by people in this area could be identified (Evans,
