INTRODUCTION
The determinants of health are describe as the range of factors that influence the health
status. These factors include social, economic, personal and environmental scope that affect
the individual life. In this essay, the social, biological and environmental determinants are
describe with using specific facts and data. It also includes the implication of health is necessary
at community level to influence the health status of individual life. With the help of this, the
equality health issues are discussed which are related to the specific determinant of health
(Abel-Smith, 2018). In this, some ethical issues, social issues and health promotion theories are
discussed. The health determinant which affect the different groups of people which incudes
the gender change, poor or rich, age group etc. It also includes the positive influence of
determinant that can be used to improve the health in community. The discussion of health
determinants is necessary as the community or individual faces many problems in their
lifestyle.
BACKGROUND
There are many health determinants which helps in influencing the health status. These
health determinants can be divided into various factors such as social, physical, economic and
individual's characteristics. These factors are combine and create the impact on individual and
in groups. As these factors are determined in the environment and by the people. The
individuals are unlikely in the control of these determinant and these factors also describe the
health of people. The three determinants such as social, biological and environmental which
affect most of the individual or people in their life. The social determinant refers to the social
factors of the surrounding in which the physical condition of individual are occur. It includes the
age, live, learn, work and the resources which influence the health of people. This also includes
the daily needs of and requirement of individual like educational, employment and food.
Moreover, it also includes the attitudes, social communication & support, safety, migration
structure, transportation facility, etc. The various types of trash are also affect the social factors
(Baum, 2016). The physical determinants are also includes some factors such as climate change,
physical obstruction and other factors which can affect the individual's life. The unemployment

is also the cause of health as it decrease the self-esteem of many young people which results
the mental difficulty.
The biological determinant affect the particular people in respect to others. There are
different example of this determinant such as age, inherited condition, sex and history of family
disease are included. The impact of this determinant is highly in the older age of people as they
have poorer health condition than the adults. The biological determinant can be divide into two
categories such as exogenous and endogenous. The endogenous includes the genetics which
refers from the ancestors and this will develop the certain kinds of disease. The exogenous
consist the interaction of individual with others which can cause the negative impact on their
health. In this various factors are also includes such as use of smoking, tobacco and other
substance which can cause the adverse effect on human health. The environment determinant
are interlinked with the external agent of biological, physical and social factors. This
determinant are concerned with the contamination of environmental factors which support the
health and well being of human. The pollution in water, air food are a part of environment
determinants. The contaminated water can bring the lots of changes in the human body as the
infected water can cause lots of disease such as cholera, typhoid etc. This elements can be a
hazardous to the people health.
The health inequalities is basically define as the distribution of determinants of health
inequality to all the people. This will arise between the different age groups, in various
communities. It occur due to the difference in socio-economic status and in personal
characteristics (Davis and Chapa, 2015). The difference in mortality and morbidity between
people from different classes can cause the unequally distribution of health. For example, the
distribution of any resources like distribution of medication facility in different class of people
according to their economic status results in health inequality. The health inequalities are
concerned with the biological variant or others that related to the concern of individual. The
uneven distribution of health determinants is necessary to consider as it decreases the rate of
human health. The health equity refers to the distribution of health determinant according to
the ability or necessity of individual. It involves the equally distribution of health factors among
to the people. In this the population have the highest opportunity to achieve the health and the

avoidance of variation in health also occur in the equity whether the people are socially or
economically defined.
MAIN BODY
1) Describe determinants by using definition, example, facts and data including national and
international data statistics and effect of health to person and community level.
The determinants of health are the situations in which people are grow, live, work, age
etc. These conditions are defined a chances of person to keeping good health. The
determinants are used in the given assignment which impact on lifestyle of a person or
community level. The determinants are water pollution, smoking and employment.
Water pollution
It is the contamination of water bodies, ordinarily as a result of water structure of
human activities in the natural environment. It occurs harmful chemicals mixed in water and
contaminate river, lake, ocean, stream etc. There are various causes of water pollution such as
toxic substances from the industries and farms (Dodgson, Lee and Drager, 2017). The
contaminated water causes the various disease with in the human body such as cholera,
typhoid etc. The approx 70% industrial waste causes the water pollution and approx 80% cause
by the domestic sewage. Across the year, approx 6 billion garbage of plastics are excreted in
the ocean. This data has been collected from the national and international level at a
community level.
Smoking
In this a substance is burned and later on it is absorbed which outcome in the breath of
smoke. The substance use while smoking is the leaves of tobacco plant which are taken by the
people as a drug. The examples of smoking is cigarette, hookahs, pipes and cigars. The data has
been occurred from the facts that the consumption of smoking is high among the adults. The
facts of smoking stated that the life duration of smokers is less than the non-smokers. It also
stated that the smoking contains more than 7,000 chemicals which can cause cancer. The
mostly smokers occur before the age of 18 and it is increasing at the age of 26.
Unemployment
3

This refers to the condition of a person who are unable to find a work. It is used to
measure the health from one of the health determinant. It show the distress on economical
status and this also cause the effect on social status which impact on human life (Fuchs, 2017).
The example of unemployment refers to the falling in product, miscommunication between the
workers and employees. The facts of unemployment includes the approx 157 million
unemployed people in through out the world. This data is analyse by the national and
international statistics according to the community level.
2) Stated any one lifestyle based determinant
The lifestyle based determinant includes those factors which are the requirement of
human on a daily basis. In this the unemployment can be a lifestyle based determinant which
effect the health of human life. The unemployment can be defined as people who does not
have any job to minimize their expenditure. The rate of unemployment is high across the world
and it occur due to many reasons. The unemployment can cause the impact on emotional and
social status which bring the changes in the mental state as many health effects can developed.
These health effects includes stress, mental illness, anxiety and decrease in self-esteem. The
rate of unemployment is high among the adults and also in between the groups.
3) The influence of health determinant different in different groups.
The health determinant influence to the people and all age of group of people whether
they are from same situation or different. The water pollution influence the different groups
such as ethnic or gender groups, poor or rich people etc. The water is the necessity
requirement or it is a part of lifestyle of an individual who uses the water on a daily basis. The
contaminated water can cause the various disease in each individual such as cholera and
typhoid (Greenwood and et. Al., 2015). This affect the all age or different groups of people
whether they are from different community or different age. The smoking is a life style based
determinant which impact highly on the adult generation. It is extremely comes under the
quality of poor or rich and age groups of people. This influence the health status of people
whether they are rich or poor as cheap smokers alternative are available in the market. It is
highly among the middle age of people as it is part of their lifestyle. The unemployment affect
the health status as it brings the changes in the emotional state of individual. It cause the lower

in self-esteem, anxiety to mostly at the middle age of group of people. Generally, this issue
occurs due to the sexual preference of the job requirement.
4) The positive influence of the health determinant to improve health by using different
intervention or policies at national and international level.
The health determinant can also have positive influence on the people by implementing
some of the intervention. These intervention can be occur in the form of different policies
which can be conduct by the government. The Environment Act has been conducted in the
country to increase the awareness about health determinant and possible ways that from it can
be prevented. In the water pollution, the intervention can be used to improve the health such
as to increase the management of solid and sewage waste, reduction of faecal waste into the
water and to increase the awareness of people about to improve the quality of water(Raphael,
2016). The intervention are should be taken to prevent the use of smoking across the world.
These includes the use of ban smoking aids and by reducing the advertising about the tobacco.
In the country there are some legislation which works on smoke-free so that it can not affect
the individual. The National Health System (NHS) banned on the production of smoke services
in the country. The government take steps by applying more intervention to promote the
health such as developing education and job centres. This can influence the positive impact on
the society as their self-esteem increases.
5) Discuss health inequality and equity to each determinant.
The health inequalities refers to the difference in providing health to the individual and
groups. It is measure according to the social and economical aspect in each communities. The
health equity is not a unfair judgement and it refers the distribution of health determinant
according to the ability of individual. The health inequality and equity of water determinant is
that the good quality is provided only to the higher class of people but for poor people it dose
not have good resource (Sharma, Pinto and Kumagai, 2018). In the unemployment, this issue
developed among the gender as the men experiences 23.8 years of good wellness while female
experiences 22.6 years of wellness.

The health promotion theory is a combination of concepts, definition and propositions
of any particular events. It also includes the focuses on health promotion model which help
people to achieve the good level of well being. The water pollution, smoking and
unemployment can be prevent with the help of this model or theory. The professionals can take
actions on these determinant in order to achieve the change and can influence the individual

CONCLUSION
From the above essay, it has been concluded that the health determinant are necessary
to promote a good healthy life. The smoking, water pollution and unemployment cause the
most effective impact on the people's life whether they are from same and different
community. The effect of this determinant occurs in the changes in behavioural, emotional and
social state. But this can be prevented by some laws and theories of health promotion.
