Abstract
Community nursing is an essential aspect in health care practice. It is tasked with care delivery
outside the normal health care settings. Community nurses are engaged with delivering care service
to clients in their homes and rural settings. This approach calls for adequate preparatory approaches
in dealing with challenges related to outdoor caring services for the patients. In line of duty,
community nursing work is coupled with work associated risks perspectives and outcomes.
Community nursing practice risks range from environmental and work related factors. This study
employed a meta analysis study to review literature undertaken. Studies have identified key risks
linked to nursing care practices. These risks are linked stress and burn out, increased workload,
harsh working environment, physical injuries and work related violence. Nurses have to equip
themselves with adequate coping mechanism and skills so as to manage work related risks in
community settings. Further, there is need for organizational support to enable nurses equip
themselves with the necessary skills and to balcony between care delivery and offering quality care
to clients. Supporting nurses in work related duties is essential in offering the needed moral support
to offer quality health care services. Further understanding the settings of community is essential
towards care delivery process. Nurses have to equip themselves with appropriate skills to cope up
with risks associated with nursing visits in community settings. Recognizing the eminent risks and
dangers in the care delivery path is a critical avenue towards coming up with avenues for managing
and learning how to adapt to them.
