Obesity is a fundamental problem in the United States of America. The crisis has been at
the forefront in utilizing most of the revenue generated at the central government and county
government level. Therefore, the most effective strategy is necessary to curb the higher costs
incurred in an attempt to settle the obesity issue in the country. Most importantly, obesity is a
condition that is manageable provided one's knowledge about the disease is enhanced. Therefore,
this paper explores an action plan that significantly applies to West Virginia as a strategic
approach for the attainment of healthy people come in 2020 with respect to the obesity crisis.
Objectives

Step 1: Assessing the community to identify the development gaps. This the most vital
step that shall commence the training and development process. It is important to assess the
community, so as to tress the level of their knowledge on the topic. Furthermore, assessing
the community promotes proper understanding of cultural differences in the society thus
implementing strategies that impress cultural competence.

the administrative authorities in order to work in a collection for the mutual achievement of

Obesity is periodically increasing as a vital crisis in the U.S. (Dietz, 2017). The costs
associated with the problem are too huge to be neglected in an economy (FRAC, 2019). The area
of interest for the implementation of this action plan is West Virginia (Mark, 2018). West
Virginia is one of the states across the globe which presents the highest percentage of individuals

with obesity (Cooksey, Schwartz, & Brownell, 2017). Justification of obesity as the topic under
discussion is not only based on the rising incidences and costs in the United States of America
but also with respect to the associated health complications. Some of the health disorders linked
to obesity include diabetes and hypertension. West Virginia is the most impacted by diabetes and
hypertension. Diabetes patients are maintained at the pick (15.2%) in West Virginia when
compared to the other states in the United States of America (Leung, Carlsson, Colditz, &
Chang, 2017). Similar trends are expressed in hypertension (43.55) (State of Obesity, 2017).
Therefore, maintaining healthy people come in 2020 depends on the ability to tackle obesity
issues in the country.

Implementation refers to the process of putting the detailed entailed in a documented plan
into action. Implementation of this action plan is expected to commence two weeks upon the

Development of a dietary plan for the patients. Obesity is a condition which sis brought
about by poor dietary practices. Therefore, nurses set up a daily meal plan that will progressively
reduce the obesity issue without altering the normal functioning of the patients’ body.
