Introduction
The following report consists of a comparison and contrast between two community
organisations in Australia. The first organisation is Save the children which are working towards
creation of a world where every child has a happy and safe childhood (Save the children, 2019).
The second organisation chosen for this report is Action Aid where women around the world
are on front lines and working towards various issues (Action-Aid,2020).
Analysis of comparison
Save the Children
Community they aim to serve- From the source (Save the children, 2019)Save the
Children was set up in 1919. It was founded in London, England. The headquarters for the
organisation in Australia is situated in Melbourne. The founders of save the children were
Eglantyne Jebb and Dorothy Buxton (Ghana, 2018) . This is an agency which is aiding and
developing in order to help children in Australia and overseas. When looking at Save the
Children they have nearly 100 years’ experience in this field. They are working towards saving
lives of children during any strike of disaster and also creating lasting change for children along
with their families.
Purpose-They majorly focus upon long-term health, education and child protection
along with a number of climate change projects. The organisation believes that children
deserve a chance to take on the world (Save the children, 2019). It is necessary that every child
throughout the world is getting education, a healthy start to their life and also a chance to go
further in order to achieve every dream. They believe that children are heroes of their stories
and they back them up whenever possible. They are successfully working throughout 116
countries around the world. Save the children Australia is managing and implementing various
programmes that is supporting children in various countries. They are directly delivering
programmes in pacific region and also supporting child and their family in their own community
running more than 197 communities and locations throughout Australia.

Activities undertaken -There are a number of topics which is taken into consideration by

Issues for future sustainability- According to Nudge theory of change management in
order to manage future sustainability organisation can address various issues like chronic
diseases in children. Considering this particular theory child labour is still prevailing in a number
of underdeveloped countries that is also a major issue the organisation can focus upon(Ranchin
and et. al., 2020). The theory focuses upon behavioural science, economics and political
theories that can be applied to change management in an organisation. This theory will help

Action Aid
From the source (Action-Aid,2020), Action aid was set up in 1972 by Cecil Jackson Cole
to work with communities in order to reduce poverty and promote human rights. The parent
organisation of this community organisation was action and international. It is head quartered
in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Community they aim to serve- Now they are successfully working with women all
around the world in order to make them aware of their rights and bring out campaigns so that
they can fight for their rights (Action-Aid,2020). The major aim of action aid is to work with
movements of women around the world in order to achieve three of its major agenda.
Purpose-These three agents of organisation are: Economic justice for women, Action aid
is successfully working in solidarity with women who are living in poverty and exclusion so that
they can get equitable redistribution of resources. Woman’s right in emergencies, they are
fighting for a world where women are resilient enough to face increasing humanitarian crisis
and also leading them towards preparedness. This refers to response and recovery efforts in
order to secure their rights in any kind of emergency (Ghana, 2018). Climate justice for women,
they are resourcing woman in order to raise their voices for alternative policies and systems
which can successfully promote resilience and climate justice. This is also working towards
reducing the worst impacts of climate change.
Activities undertaken-They are successfully working across 45 countries throughout the
world and representing a global movement of women who was standing together in order to
claim their human rights and also campaign against various injustice done to them (Action-
Aid,2020). They are successfully partnering with local women organisation who are exactly in
information of what changes are needed in their communities. They support these
organisations and designed and lead programmes which will help them in bringing the change.
Along with empowering women with various tools to campaign for safer city’s or building
various women capacity to respond to climate disasters they also have program to support
women living in poverty or exclusion from their communities.

order to get women the resources they need to lead the changes. The major changes are
required for gender equality and social justice for women (Olawoore, 2018). They are also
continuously mobilising a community activist network, campaigning in order to hold Australian
government and corporations accountable for the impact on various rights of women who are
living in poverty throughout the world.
Governance and management: The two tier governance structure of Action Aide
includes assemble and Board. The assembly consists of democracy, participation and
accountability which has one representative each. Whereas, a board consists of governance
body which meets every few month to provide day-to-day governance.
Issues for future sustainability- According to ADKAR model in order to maintain
sustainability in future organisation can successfully look up to a number of different matters
such as discrimination towards women in corporate sector. It is an important issue that is
arising in corporate sector all over the world (Venkatesan and Luongo, 2019). this model will
help in supporting employees to go through changes. It comprises of five steps that are
Awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement. Following all these steps Action-Aid
can successfully maintain sustainable development addressing a number of other issues faced
by women throughout the world.

community organisations present throughout the world who are working towards different
