Introduction:
With the acceptance of Project charter of playground project by the council for
a new community playground, this report depicts the project management
plan of new playground project for the community. Council has allocated 1000
meter square of green space and budget of $2, 50,000.Council has allocated a
small project team to render services such as site preparation, installation of
pathways, installation of soft-fall base and landscaping. The project team and
other associates have access to council’s building, gardening, and earthworks
equipment. The project team comprises of Project Manager, landscape
gardener, a concreter, plumber, portable services provider and park bench
retailer. The playground equipment will be supplied by Fun Kids Play
Equipment Company to further assist in completion and objectives of this
project.
Analysis of project schedule is necessary for the commencement of the project
has been utilized with the help of WBS, Gantt charts and AoN charts. A
separate excel sheet containing of all the calculations has been attached to
better understand the project and the entire team member’s deliverables.
This Project management plan will also give an estimate resource overloads
and constraints (if any), proper risk management practices and its mitigation,
budgetary requirements, and list, change and stakeholder’s management with
project closure elements i.e., audits.

WBS
As defined by Kloppenborg, Anantatmula & Wells (2019, p. 220) project Work
breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool which is product-oriented or deliverables
of a certain project work that are visualized in a most efficient way to
communicate project elements. These elements are rendered in graphical
formats such in organizational flow chart or free format charts that divide the
deliverables of a project into smaller sections or pieces (Kloppenborg,
Anantatmula & Wells 2019, p. 221).
This stands true as per Kloppenborg, Anantatmula & Wells (2019, p. 222) WBS
has been described as a “cornerstone” of effective planning, controlling,
execution and reporting of the project. The work rendered within the WBS
needs to be identified, scheduled, budgeted, or any rectification. Initial funding
for the project has been received; the Project Lead or the supervisor is
responsible to develop WBS based on such initial funding to allocate it to the
proper budget requirements. As planning the project requires proper
discipline, systematic process, and visibility of the work to be executed for the
purpose of the business objectives.
The table below gives information of new playground community project with
WBS number, deliverables, and activity list. Activities are the actions that will
produce the deliverables. Often the WBS is created at the same time as the
activity list (Timonthy J. Kloppenborg, 2019)
Each of the work tasks has been allocated a code of work breakdown task
which helps for planning, controlling, and organizing various tasks. The
completion of the task is the duration period i.e., days and commencement
date of the project with estimated end dates of the task. The estimated
completion date with ribbon cutting ceremony has been estimated1 on 28th
August 2021.

Responsibility of the concreter to render pre-inspection and preparation of the sites, Plumber has informed, and PM has
been accountable for the success of this task. Plumber is responsible for water inspection and installation of the water
fountain with landscape and concreter consulted for inspection and later informed for all the tasks. All the parties have
been consulted for the basic layout and structure of playground, council members have been informed about the
requirements and plus the access to gardening and earth works equipment’s. It is the responsibility of the concreter to
develop foundation and lay new foundation.

Gantt chart:
A Gantt chart renders information in a simpler way possible to communicate project schedule. It is a horizontal bar chart
that shows the various activities to be executed and these are depicted with bar icons for their early start date to early
finish date. It shows the timeline of the activities to be commenced from start date to finish date. To add on, as per
Geraldi and Lechlar (2012, p.10) Gantt chart gives an information about the objective and a precise description about how
long it is going to take a project to complete. Geraldi and Lechlar (2012, p.16) even commented that it is sequential, and
information is visualized so that each task is performed with a clear sequence where there is no need for revisit the tasks
again.
The following table 3 gives an information about the task that are needed to be performed as per the sequence with start
date and days to complete for the playground project and an excel sheet has been attached to the report of various works
and responsibilities of each of the resources and their deliverables.
