This project assesses a student's understanding of legal and ethical compliance within the workplace, specifically focusing on the role of a Child Protection Practitioner in the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The assessment requires the student to demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, and other related acts such as the Adoption Act 1984 and the Working with Children Act 2005. The project involves identifying sources of compliance documentation, interpreting information, and understanding the scope of compliance requirements. The student is asked to analyze the Child Protection Manual, various policies and procedures, and the Human Services Standards. Furthermore, the student must identify ethical issues, model ethical behavior, and understand the consequences of non-compliance. The project also includes an analysis of the responsibilities, skills, and personal qualities required of a Child Protection Practitioner. The assessment involves answering questions about ethical dilemmas, workplace safety, and the process of reviewing and improving compliance systems, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of legal and ethical obligations in the field.
