Project
AI Summary
This project outlines a grant proposal aimed at decreasing health-related issues and improving the living conditions of homeless men in San Francisco. The proposal highlights the severity of homelessness in the city, noting the high percentage of homeless individuals, including veterans, facing health problems. It emphasizes the negative impact on children and young adults, potentially leading to chronic homelessness. The project's objective is to establish community-based emergency care services and affordable shelters through resource centers across San Francisco, requiring an initial investment of $5,031,520. The implementation plan includes securing funding, setting up resource centers, conducting monthly surveys to assess living conditions and address problems, and measuring outcomes through short-term indicators like shelter provision and hygiene standards, and long-term indicators like reduced health issues and increased life expectancy.

GRANT PROPOSAL
Goal:
The goal of the project is to decrease the health related issues and improve loving
condition arises due to poor living condition associated with the homeless men in San
Francisco.
The homelessness is a serious issue in San Francisco as more than 55% of the people
dealing with the homelessness for the first time were facing health related issues, among
which 17% is veteran , hence more affected by health related issues. The effect on homeless
children is very significant with problems like developmental delays, mental health problems,
academic failures, behavioural problems, hunger, and poor nutrition.
The impact is also high on the young adults aged 18 to 24 and if not treated properly
they might contribute to the section of chronically homeless adult population in San
Francisco. Hence these issues need to be addressed in long run for creating an overall healthy
society and improve the life expectancy of the population.
Objective
The objective of the project is to create a community based emergency care services
for the homeless people and provide shelters to the homeless at an affordable cost at the
resource centres located around the city of San Francisco.
The community based service will not only improve the living standard of the
homeless person but also reduce the price for shelters to make it more affordable with as low
as $200 per person for a full year. Hence a total investment of $5,031,520 is required for the
initial setup cost for the resource centres
