INTRODUCTION
This report will be comprising of comparison of two companies through analysing their
vision, mission, values, corporate social responsibility and their stakeholders. These companies
are “Aristocrat Leisure Limited” and “Fortescue Metal Group”. Aristocrat Leisure Limited is an
Australian gambling machine manufacturer and has the operating income of A$ 16million. They
have the employment strength of approx. 2,080 people. Whereas Fortescue Metal Group is an
Australian iron ore company and today it is the fourth largest Iron ore producer in the world. The
company has a net income of approx. $1,746,000,000.
TASK
Mission and Vision of Both the Companies.
The vision of Aristocrat is to be one of the leading gaming firms and poker machines
provider on the whole world. These vision can be attained through imagination, focus and
creativity as these are the factors which plays a key in the success of the organisation
(Kaminkow, Mead and Baerlocher, 2010). In the case of Fortescue their vision is to be safest,
more profitable and lower cost iron manufacture all across the world. It is the metal extraction
company so they have to make sure that they create a safe working environment for their
employees as there are chances of causalities at the work place. Through using the modern
technologies and techniques they can bring efficiency in their work and as well as this will also
reducing their manufacturing cost. Both have the same origin country and are based in Australian
but are carrying out their business activities or operations in different segment. Through
analysing the vision of both the companies, it can be said that both of them desire for achieving
competitive advantage through bringing out the unique and productivity material in the market.
With this they can increase their productivity thus leading to increase in the profit ration.
The mission statement of Aristrocrat Leisure Limited is to bring one of the sustainable
business model for all the stakeholders by innovating gaming solutions. In the case of mission
statement of Fortescue metal is to make sure that they get best performance from their employees
and get something or other from the surrounding so that they can built a better working culture.
If the company maintains their culture it will get a lot of profits from the market. It the work
culture only through which an organisation gain a unique identity in the market so they have to

put their all efforts to maintain the work culture. With this they are able to set coordination
between the employees and their business activities. All the operations has to be aligned in a way
that staff working for the Fortescue metal are able to deliver their best performance through
bringing efficiency in their work.
Values of the Organisations.
In the Value statement of Aristocrat company they have highlighted the importance of
hard working people. They believe that that it takes more than talented people, advanced
technologies and creative excellence to deliver the world's greatest gaming experience. For this
respect, courage, integrity and passion is required. No organisation can gain success till it sticks
to their core values from starting to the end. In the business environment there might be
condition that when the enterprise might losses so in order to overcome that crises they should
adopt some values which defines them in the market (Dickinson, 2014). The mentioned values
are at the core of everything Aristocrat do at their workplace. With this they they get an
inspiration to support their business, people and communities who are attached to them in some
or other way. So they should these vales in order to maintain the consistency in the work. Almost
all the company's employees should be aware about these and they need to know the importance
of these. They know that talented people can impact the values of the company and can assist
them in expanding their market in the countries where they do not have any existence.
Values of Fortescue's metal form the base for their policies and includes code of conduct
and integrity policy. It paves the path for the activities they do and show them how they should
perform in order to get best results. Safety, empowerment, family, frugality, stretch targets,
integrity, enthusiasm, courage & determination, generating ideas and humility are the values of
Fortescue. They make sure that their employees and their families are safe. To achieve
empowerment they put certain efforts and encourage their teams to perform well in difficult
situations. In the business there might comes the challenging target so they train their employees
and staff to deliver best services so that they can bring efficiency in the work. They believe in
commitments so whatever they promise to their clients they put their all efforts to provide him
the best product. If a person fails in whatever they are doing that does not mean he should give

and global community on which they do business. It highlights their citizenship, charity which
they do and the voluntary work they do for these communities. They makes sure that some profit
of their earning goes to the communities who exist near their work place. They make sure that
they use natural resources in better way for manufacturing of the gambling machines. They have
designed the policies and strategies by keeping environmental cause in their mind. Aristocrat
Leisure Limited is continuously focusing on the developing techniques to carry out energy
efficient operations. There goal is to carry out the operation through following the concept of
sustainable development which ensures proper use of the of resources and they also try to engage
their stakeholders for environmental improvement. For the employees they ensures that company
practice labour relations, labour rights, benefits, training of the employees, health and safety of
them.
Fortescue Metal Group CSR is to fix value shared by their business and their
communities. With this they empower company and the communities. With this they want to
develop a strong business through creating economic opportunities and contribute in the progress
of the communities. With their efforts they believes in lifting the socio economically
disadvantaged communities. They train, educate, gives employment to the individual who are
part of the communities who are situated at their working place (Wilson, 2011). Whatever
approach they adopt has three key components that is bring new opportunities for the Aboriginal
individuals. They make sure that their business and supply chain is free from all forms of forced
labour. Fortescue Metal Group invest into the initiatives and technologies so that they can reduce
the environmental impact through their activities. They believes in transparency so they make the
information public regarding their business and follows the Environmental Protection Act 1986
or the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999.

Stakeholders are the people who support the business of an organisation and they hold
equal importance at their places. Aristocrat Leisure Limited has employees who support them in
the business activity and currently they have approx. 3200 employees. Taking about their upper
level officials they have 11 managers and Trevor J. Croker is the CEO of the firm (McGraw and
Dabski, 2010). Paul L H Ainsworth holds almost 5% of the shares of the company. There are
some other shareholders who also holds some of the shares in the Aristocrat Leisure Limited.
Fortescue Metal Group has various stakeholders who take contribute in their business and help
them in gaining competitive advantage. They have to be very precise in choosing the suppliers
which is the backbone. For extracting the metals from the earth they need heavy machinery so
for that they make sure that they uses highly advanced machines which supports there cause.
Other then this they have a employees number of around 2,500 and are involved in various tasks
carried out by the company (Lu, 2015). They also take the help of the government to expand
their business as there are some of the activities which cannot be completed without the
interference of the government. For the transportation they have to rely on the different modes of
the country. With the working with suppliers they need to ensure that they set a proper pricing
policy set in the international market.

From the above report it has been concluded that any company who might be of the same
segment or not but they need some elements to accomplish the goals or targets which they have
set. They have to set the mission, vision and values for their business. This way they can know
why they exist and what they want to achieve.
