SUBJECT: Differences between Chicago and the US Population
There considerable difference in the education levels, income levels, and transportation means
associated with Chicago and the entire United States of America. With regard to education attainment it is clear
that Chicago has a higher percentage of educated individuals compared with the overall population of the
United States. Majority of the individuals in Chicago have a college degree and higher; while, majority of the
population of the US have some college study (no degree/diploma) and less in terms of academic attainment. In
terms of marriage statistics it is clear that Chicago has a greater percentage of unmarried individuals compared
with total US population. On the other hand, the US population has higher percentage of married people
compared with the occupants of Chicago. Similarly divorce and separation rates in Chicago are lower than the
national average; as indicated by diminished parentage of separated and divorced people in Chicago compared
to the US population (Amakobe, 2016).
According to population percentages the two most popular modes of transportation to work are: driving
alone and subway& elevated in Chicago; driving alone and carpool across the US. There is considerable
difference in the mode of transportation opted for by the Chicago population compared to the overall percentage
of the US. With regard to race and ethnicity the generally composition of the population in Chicago is
extremely similar to the national constitution of individuals. Looking at pie charts for the two populations there
is very little difference between the two (Chicago and the US). This similarity can be seen as proof to the
presence of a culture of acceptance with regard to different races and ethnicities in Chicago; moreover, these

can be interpreted to mean that Chicago provides unlimited socio-economic opportunities of all regardless of
origination (Kemp, et. al. 2018).
