communication with the managers, contractors, suppliers, and electrical workers. I had to ensure
that there is not any communication gap between these stakeholders and the efficiency of the
project can be managed in a much better way.
CE 1.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 1.3.1 Comprehending the theory of the project
The project was to establish the SSVT in between the high voltage grids and the rural
community for the electric supply and providing the rural communities with a better and cost
effective solution that can fulfil the needs of the electricity. I had done the mathematical
calculations considering every factor of the electric supply including the resistance, wire length,
type of material, transformer’s factors, electric discharge, and different losses for laying out the
cables in between the stations. SSVT was selected in the place of the simple step-down voltage
in manner to ensure that the government at low price can utilize the project and it can be
established in less area.
CE 1.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
I had done all the calculations necessary in the context of the power supply and made
sure that the losses could be minimized at the extent level and output reaches near to 100%. The
load was rising and sagging was more than expectation however; I managed the supports at
certain distances after calculation for limiting the sag and tension in the cable. I evaluated the
insulator and it was necessary to manage the insulation property and considering the much
efficient insulator that can be utilized for supporting the cables at the poles. I considered the cost
that there is not any communication gap between these stakeholders and the efficiency of the
project can be managed in a much better way.

and efficiency of the electric supply and use aluminium cables for the electric transmission that
helped in limiting the budget of the project.
Following formula was used for sag calculation:
L = length of the span, T = tension in the conductor, y = height from point O to point P, and x =
distance of point P from Lowest point O.
CE 1.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
I had performed active maintenance of equipment and monitor compliance with electrical
codes for safety regulations. I inspected all the electrical components being utilized in the project
and assure that the resources or products being utilized are capable of delivering the necessary
output of the project. There were some malfunctioning in the transformer and I adjusted the
malfunctioning and ensured that the transformed can perform in long running of the electrical
transmission. I managed the activities of the electrical workers assuring that they are effectively
delivering the objectives of the project.
CE 1.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
1.3.4.1 Issues
I identified two major problems associated in the delivery of the project that includes the
property of the insulator and type of the material being utilized for the electric supply. Using
copper for the transmission was causing a large escalation in the project and insulators were
helped in limiting the budget of the project.

1.3.4.1 Issues
I identified two major problems associated in the delivery of the project that includes the
property of the insulator and type of the material being utilized for the electric supply. Using
copper for the transmission was causing a large escalation in the project and insulators were

strong enough to hold the cables but their properties after doing the calculation was not effeicient
enough for the transmission.
1.3.4.2 Solutions
I replaced the copper wires with aluminium wires that helped in limiting the cost of the
project and delivering the project at minimum expanses. I calculated the insulation value and
utilized the insulator made of ceramic and glass for managing the insulation property along with
the strength to mechanically hold the cable strength.
CE 1.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
I replaced the traditional step – down transformer with the SSVT that was capable of
delivering the same output at low budget and less area consumption for the establishment. I
proposed a design that is sophisticated enough or the effective transmission between the power
grids and rural communities at low cost. I utilized my theoretical knowledge of the power
transmission properties of the cables and transformer for the establishment and successful
delivery of the project. I proposed a replacement that is capable of operating at 25 kVA to
333kVA.
CE 1.3.6 Collaborative work
The project would never be delivered in a worthwhile manner if not every team member
had contributed 100% in the development of the project. I was assigned under the heads, project
manager, and architects and my role was to perform solely for the identification of the quality of
the material and constantly auditing the functionality and performance of the SSVT. Rest of the
team members had to do the mechanical and decision-making actions on the delivery and
milestones of the project. The project was divided in many levels including the transformer,
