CE 2.2 Project Background
CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project
The project was based on the development procedures of the Security Head Quarters in
the Riyadh location of Saudi Arabia. There are total number of 304 sites all around the kingdom
of Saudi Arabia. I was provided with the task of looking after the development procedure of two
of the sites of the project. I was in charge of site number 182 and site number 304. The two sites
consisted of the Deportation Administration, male and female tank, Forensics Laboratory, water
treatment plant, main kitchen and laundry, male and female clinic, finger print building,
generator room, fuel oil pump system, fire suppression system. For the completion of the
complete project I was provided with a team of 5 foreman and 25 labours. The team was an
expert in the management of the electromechanical procedures of the working environment.

CE 2.2.2 Objectives developed for the project
While I was working for the development of the report I had developed the following
objectives for the completion of the project:
To design and calculate the different systems that are to be implemented in the sites.
To issue different drawing mechanism for all the electrical works.
To estimate and assign different tools in different department of the electrical working
To overview all the electrical and telecommunication works at the sites.
To ensure the compliance to the company safety rules and regulations are strictly observed
through proper supervision.
To ensure that the job is completed within the budgeted time and cost.
CE 2.2.3 My area of work
I was responsible for the upgrading all the different electrical systems and the powering
system of the sites. I had followed the ARC and ID drawing for the process of implementing the
electrical systems. The electrical systems consisted of Earthing, lighting and power calculation
and short circuit calculation for the implementation of the correct procedure for the electrical
system to be completed. I was responsible for the modification of electrical drawings as per the
site conditions and following the client’s requirements. I had taken into consideration the costs,
safety and time constraints for the completion of the project. I had studied and revised the
electrical drawing to ensure the installation and operations confirm to NEC, SBC and SASO.

CE 2.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
I had taken up the challenge of upgrading the different electrical and powering system
that are present in the site location headquarters. For this process I had followed the ARC and the
ID drawing for implementation of the different electrical systems. I was responsible for the
modification of electrical drawings as per the site conditions and following the client’s
requirements. While I was conducting the overview pf the project I had taken into concern the
cost, time management and the safety of the workers of the project. I had also conducted studies
and revision of the electrical drawings to ensure that the installation and operations confirm to
NEC, SBC and SASO.
CE 2.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 2.3.1 Comprehending the theory of the project
When I was assigned to the project I was asked to prepare a site mobilization plan, and
supplier’s negotiation and purchase materials (internal or external lighting, wiring devices,
grounding, cable tray and cables) for both the sites so that the work can be completed as soon as
possible. I was told to follow all electrical and telecommunication material submittals according
to BOQ and project specification. I had also stepped up during the development of the project to
solve any kind of issues from the implementation procedure. I had then conducted ordering and
familiarizing of the products that were used in the project.
CE 2.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
I had applied my knowledge and skills of the electrical basics along with the more
detailed knowledge implementation of the working procedures from the different location where

I had worked as an electrical engineer. I had familiarized myself with the technical and last
issued specifications of all the MEP Service’s to work on the sites. I had also conducted Testing,
commissioning and preparation of built and handing over documents to the management.
CE 2.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
Before the start of the project I had first compiled my team of workers comprising of 5
foreman and 25 labours. After this procedure I had prepared the timetable indicating the
activities to be undertaken, manpower required and the estimate hour required for the activity to
complete. This time table was shared among my team mates and was requested to follow this
strictly so that the projects can be delivered on time. I had then conducted meetings to make my
team mates understand the working procedure of the project and the work that was to be put in
each of the departments. I had then provided overall discipline leadership and coordination in
their functional processes on projects of various sizes and complexities.
CE 2.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
2.3.4.1 Issues
During the process of testing process of the ceiling lighting circuit in the main building of
site number 182, I found out that one of the circuit was not working. I checked the problem with
my multi meter for any leaks and cracks in the wire and found that during the construction
procedure one of the civil workers had accidentally lodges a nail into one of the wires which
made it to get a small cut. With the regular flow of the current the wire had burned put and the
circuit broke. Another problem which I had faced during my implementation of the electrical
circuit at the clinical building was that the miniature circuit breaker was constantly tripping over
due to the process of overload on the circuit.

2.3.4.2 Solutions
For the problem raised due to the breaking of the wires in the circuit, I had pulled out the
old burned out wire from the channelling system and had instead replaced with new wires. This
solved the problems easily. The problem caused by the miniature circuit breaker was easily fixed
with the help of a new miniature circuit breaker with a capacity of 32A instead of the 16A that
was being used earlier.
CE 2.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
For the innovative and the creative work I had followed all Electrical (High Current) and
Telecommunication (Low Current) works at both the sites. I had implemented the Lighting
systems, powering system, A/V system, security systems, MATV System, Fire Detection system,
Telephone system, including all the required coordination with all assigned subcontractors. I had
also provided all the coordination works with project utilities departments: Structural,
Mechanical, And Landscaping and Infra-structure. I have excellent communication skills (verbal
and written) and should be able to independently deal with clients and consultants preparation
and submission of proposal/construction drawings, quantity take off, technical submittal,
material submittal and method of statements.
CE 2.3.6 Collaborative work
I had collaborated with my team mates and labourers which consisted of 5 foreman and
25 labours. My team consisted members of electromechanical background. The major contractor
for the project was Saudi Oger Ltd who was working for the project. I was hired under the K&A
Consulting-KSA to work for The Ministry of Interior (MOI) for the development of the Security
Head Quarters KAP-1(In KSA). I had to attend a daily meeting with the client and the project
management consultant to review the progress of the project work and to solve any additional

CE 2.4.1 Project Overview
The complete project of implementation of the electrical circuit and equipment’s at both
the sites of the security headquarters was successfully completed without any delay in the
timeline. I had always followed up a prior approval of execution of drawings and material for
any electrical works. I had the complete supervision and monitoring of the work progress and
generated periodical reports for the management to review the work. I had adapted and updated
with the most recent building rules as well as for the project estimation procedure. Apart from all
these work I had conducted the testing and commissioning of the project handling to the client’s
representative in cooperation with the maintenance department of the project.
CE 2.4.2 My contribution to work
I had the contribution of providing the overview and the working procedures for the
project. I had followed the guide lines for the completion of the project and had also followed the
client requirements to keep the project as per the requirements. I had conducted studies and
revision of the electrical drawings to ensure that the installation and operations confirm to NEC,
SBC and SASO. While I was conducting the overview pf the project I had taken into concern the
cost, time management and the safety of the workers of the project. I was also responsible for the
modification of electrical drawings as per the site conditions.
