INTRODUCTION
The report encompasses the implementation of Competing Values Framework with Richard
Branson business ventures in order identify and assess the ways in which Richard has incorporated
Control element of Competing Values Framework in its organisational strategies and how the other
elements i.e. collaborate, compete and create has aided him in improving and generating higher
revenues in the business environment so as to dominate the market and leverage from the same
(Huang, Zou and Qian, 2019). related to the same has facilitated him in acquisition of great
opportunities and expansion of his business ventures globally.

Richard Branson is a one of the most successful businessman across the world. He runs a
conglomerate business popularly known as “Virgin”. He is operating ,investing and capitalising
numerous business lines such as Airlines, cruise business, Virgin Records etc. Richard Branson has
put in a lot of hard work and passion in order to achieve his goals and desires. Various innovative
strategies and plans are introduced and incorporated in his business ventures in order to become one
of the wealthiest business man in the world (McCurdy, 2019 ). Competing Values Framework can
be characterized as an useful and effective tool so as to assess and analyse the various perspectives
and phenomena utilised by individuals and business organisation in order enhance the scope for
their operation in the market environment. This framework involves theories that contribute in
enhancement of efficiency and effectiveness within the organisation. It focus on the culture and
design of the business organisations, leadership and competencies associated with the same,
organisational life cycle, finance related strategies etc.
Richard Branson has also utilised Competing Values Framework in order to make the right
decision in market and ensure optimum utilisation of the respective organisational resources. The
framework has helped Richard Branson in enhancing the management operation and functioning of
his business ventures ( Muegge and Reid, 2018). Richard has led major emphasis on the Control
components of CVF in order to identify, assess and measure the management operation of various
departments in the respective organisations so as to find the necessary gaps in the functions and to

Control element can be characterized as a feature the allows the organisations to enhance
their working efficiency as it assists in reducing and eliminating errors and interruptions in the
working environment. Richard also believed in this idea and perspective and hence he also used the
control element in its multiple business ventures so as to enhance the working efficiency of the
employees working in the different organisation.
Controlling also helps the organisations to enhance the degree of employee's performance
and increase their productivity as well. Richard also believed in the same and optimized the control
feature in its ventures in order to provide assistance the staff members in elevating their standard
of performance in the organisation.

extensively focused on collaboration so as to encourage the long term growth and
development of its further operations and promote coordination within different department
which in turn leads to enhancement in companies overall results.
 In order to sustain and be relevant among the competitors and give them a tough fight,
Richard focuses on getting additional advantages from the market by application of creative
tactics so as to compete with the rivals. Richard also capitalises on doing things fast in
comparison to its competitors so as to gain competitive advantage over them and achieve the
organisational goals effectively and efficiently.
 One of the major reasons behind the success of Richard is the fact that he has always
supported creative advancements and innovation. He believes in providing quality services
to its consumers in order to enhance their degree of satisfaction and retain them for a longer
time period within the organisation. He has invested in advanced technologies and devices
that can facilitate in the innovation plans of his respective ventures. Richard always try to
create and deliver something brand new and attractive in the marketplace in order to cater
the consumers with innovative offerings (Reid, 2018).
Thus, it can be said that Richard has taken various essential actions that are similar and associated
the four approaches of Competing values framework.

From the above discussion, it can be analysed that Competing Value Framework is one of the
spectacular and prominent models that can be applied to the organisational structural as well as
business man and other individuals so as to increase the decision making ability and recovery plans
of the same. It can be concluded that Richard Branson has also incorporated elements that exhibit
similar approach as the CVF model. He has his business scattered all across the world and one of
the major reason for the same is the strategies adopted by him in order to capture good market and
gain reasonable profits from the same.
