Competitive advantage in management information system stems from the ability of a
firm to be able to create value for their customers. Superior value comes from a set up that
offer lower prices than their competitors and the customer is willing and able to pay for the
services (Laudon, & Laudon, 2016).
Management information system evolution has changed how businesses and
managers view the role of MIS. Information value is now readily recognized. It is moreover
recognized that information is a form of a depreciating asset and therefore should be treated
as a resource that a business should use to help it in operations.
The business can utilize information management systems in the identification of how
information should enhance key competencies in business. Due to the dynamic consumer
behavior, a business should not be static an needs to evolve and consequently be innovative
for them to position themselves above competitors (Mao, Liu, Zhang, & Deng, 2016). The
return on Investment (ROI) is linked to business strategic lines enhanced by MIS and overall
performance utilized in client Relation Management(CRM).
