The presentation prepared focuses on the strategic management sustaining
competitive advantage in market. It analyses the potential negative and positive impact of the
environment which company would have from the market and other business risk and risk
management model (Linnenluecke, et al. 2017).

In this report, Wesfarmers Company has been taken into consideration. The
Wesfarmers Company is the retail business operation which has been selected for the
strategic business management. The main core competency of company is in product
leadership strategy which has resulted to easy competition (Knüppe, & Knieper, 2016).

Company needs to focus on the advance technologies and cyber computing system to
operate its business on sustainable basis. Wesfarmers has used advanced cyber computing
system in its value chain process to strengthen the client’s satisfaction (Gutberlet, 2016). The
core value of the company is related to its experienced staff employees (Hazen, et al. 2014).

The Australian market has good amount of opportunity as with the increase in its
GDP rate, people in Australia would have higher purchasing power. With the increasing GDP
rate of Australia by 2.5% it will be beneficial for the Wesfarmers to penetrate the market with
its cost leadership and product differentiation strategy. The advance technologies and system
in its process functions will attract more clients towards its retails services.

Company should focus on reducing the cost of capital by installing new system and
implementing the proper leadership strategies. Wesfarmers should focus on the quality of its

retail services which will strengthen its value chain process by re-engineering of its business
activities.
