Introduction
The tool the computer based patient record is expected to have a major impact on the
different practices including medical practices. The tool CPR forms an outline from the
sociological point of view and is completely dependent on the observation of the participants and
the results deduced from the experiments. The aim of this paper is to introduce the computer
based patient record in the term of sociological perspectives. The patient record keeps all the
information related to patient. It helps in providing better healthcare to patients by providing
more improved access of data.
Body
The computerization of patients care has increased at a high rate and this trend hopefully
will continue with the increase in technology and in the recent years this will become affordable
with the increase in the demand of healthcare. For example for recording the healthcare of the
patient, the committee should record all the clinical problems, must trail all the clinical logics,
the status of the health of the patient and also the information about the current instruments and
techniques that are available in the hospital (Williams et al., 2015). The computer based patient
has some sociological perspectives. Firstly, the use of the computer based patient care improves
the conditions of heath care by providing much greater access of medical staffs, faster recovery
of data and by providing higher quality of data. The most important persons involved in
improving the healthcare activities are the patient care users (Wang, Kung & Byrd, 2018). The
users of the patient care are those persons who have the duties to enter, do the correction,
verification, analyse and obtain information from the record available. Some people maintain

their daily contacts with the records, while some few people keeps contact with the record only
occasionally, while some other people are there who never keep contact with the records but
completely rely on the data available from there. The users of the patient care provide, do the
management, review the records or do the reimbursement of the patient healthcare services
(Zhang et al., 2015). They are responsible for the conduction of researches, for educating the
doctors and also the patients, they do the regulation of the healthcare technologies, credit the
healthcare professionals and prepare different healthcare policies. Secondly, the electronic
capture of clinical information for doing the evaluation, the outcomes of the research
programmes are enhanced. The needs of the customer are translated into the requirements of the
system. Proper system designing is an important factor in achieving patient care that fits
properly, communicates in such a way that it is accepted in the society. The designing of the
system must be done in such a way that it can be easily accepted by the customer. The committee
defines the need of the patient care in terms of the functioning of the system and also in the terms
of the issues of the implementation of the records and in its operations (O’Connor et al., 2016).
The system functions can be defined as the way the system enables the users to do and what it
does for these people. The implementation includes the issues related with the factors that are
used in considering the acquiring and also in the installing of the business. The factors are
important along with the original form of the records.
The persons who are involved in the delivery of the patient care are the dentists, nurses,
dieticians, occupational therapists, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, physical therapists,
psychologists, radiology technologists, respiratory therapists, different social workers, the
patients, their families, patient care management and support, the managers of the finances, the
accountants, the quality assurance managers, risk managers, unit clerks, accreditors, lawyers and

healthcare researchers and different clinical investigators and also the heath science journalists
and the editors (Sittig & Singh, 2015). All of these people work in collaboration by following
the computer based patient record in order to provide the patients with better care. The needs of
the customers are translated into the requirements of the system. The committee do this by
providing proper education, proper regulation, by conducting better research policies. They do
the documentation of the healthcare professional, they do the preparations of the conferences and
the presentations and also are involved in teaching of the healthcare professional students. They
serve as the evidences of the litigations, they do the surveillance after the post marketing, they do
the credits of the hospitals and the professionals (Ancker et al., 2015). They also do the
comparison in between the different healthcare organizations. They do the development of
different new products, they conduct the clinical researches, do the access of the technology,
study the outcomes of the patients, study how effective the patient care is also the cost
effectiveness of the patients care. They also do the risk assessments, develops the databases.
They also do the allocation of different resources, conduct the strategic planning and also do the
monitoring of the public health (Cohen, Coleman & Kangethe, 2016).
However, the computer based patient care system has improved a lot in the healthcare
sectors, but it also faces some social issues while proceeding with the work. There may be some
issues created in between the workers while performing the work. If one of the worker
performing with the work omit his own work, then whole of the process will get disturbed.
Clashes may occur in between the workers regarding issues where opinions of one member does
not match with the others. In these circumstances it will be really difficult for the committee to
continue with the work. In conferences and meetings if opinions of all the members do not match

then the implementation of any new policies is also very difficult (Youyou, Kosinski & Stillwell,
2015).
Conclusion
This assignment is about the introduction of the computer based patient record systems in
the healthcare systems and how the introduction of CPR has improved the environment of the
healthcare. So it is seen, apart from having the different social issues in proceeding the work of
the healthcare sectors, the Computer based patient care has improved the work and the
environment of the healthcare sector by involving different people at different fields of work. In
recent future also, the CPR will help the healthcare sectors by proceeding through much
innovative ways.
