INTRODUCTION
Computer system is common terms which can be refer as a system which includes
various software’s and peripheral devices that are essential for smoothing running of
computer functions (Cassedy, 2004). The present report is designed to understand the various
concepts regarding different functions and frameworks of computer systems. It is divided into
four sections under which different role and functionality of computers is explained. ABC
Company is taken into consideration which is planning to open a small branch in London for
running a course. For this, the study is made in order to designing and creating the
specification of the 20 computers for the class room.
TASK 1
1.1 Impact of computer systems in social and work and role of these systems in different
environment
In today’s globalized world computer systems are having higher impact on the social
life as well as working of various organizations. It is having several positive impacts such as
employment, low enforcement, traffic control etc (Blundell, 2008). Due to the several
advancements in the field of technology there are increasing numbers of employment
opportunities. Computers impact employment by both creating and destroying various jobs,
but they extremely impact these jobs by changing the nature of jobs available. In addition to
this, it can be stated that there is a positive as well as negative impact of computer systems on
social as well as work. Computers have altered the whole way in which people relates to one
another and their living environment (Warford, 2009). Within any working environment
people can easily organize their work their communities as well as their time. Society has
influenced the development of computers through the various needs and requirements of
people have for processing any type of information. There is positive role of computer
systems within the field of science as well as education. Most of the universities and colleges
give more emphasis to computer education by adding it in their curriculum. It has highly
affected the whole banking as well as business industry. Computers are extensively used in
the banking field. People uses ATM services 24/7 and access any type of service related to
the cash deposit etc. Further, it is quite accurate to say that in today’s modern era all the fields
are somehow related with the computer systems. It has changed the whole era of working
within the society as well as business class people (Ryan, 2010).

There are different role of computer system within different environment such as
home, business, computer gaming, networking, real time, communication etc. People use to
have computer systems at their home in order to get aware and informed about all the
happenings around the world. Most of the people use it for their personal work such as
emailing and word processing as well as using various types of social networking sites. On
the other hand, Electronic mail is another facility that is also supported by various computers
through which individual can send messages from one place to another (Avoine, Junod and
Oechslin, 2007). In addition to this, within the field and area of business there is a huge
advancement of technology. Most of the new entrepreneurs are launching their business
based at their homes or small office locations. Further, they use various computer systems in
order to handle different business operations such as accounting, inventory management,
marketing, payroll etc.
1.2 Main computer hardware components
There is different computer hardware components used for appropriate functioning such as:
CPU: It is the most important hardware device of computer system which is also
called as a central processing unit (Bose, 2000). It helps in executing various computer
programs by using main four operations i.e. fetch, decode, and execute and writeback.

It carried out all the instruction of a computer program by performing some basic
tasks. The typical CPU is having various components such as:
ALU: It is define as an arithmetic logical unit which performs simple arithmetic and
logical operations such as addition, multiplication etc.
RAM: It is another most important component of CPU which can be defines as a
random access memory (McCabe, 2010). It is the form of computer data storage and allows
information to be stored and retrieved.

In addition to this, there is different system software’s which are used for the purpose of
some system utilities such as:
Virus protection: In order to protect the computers from any type of additional and
viruses that harm the computers it is necessary to install various protection software’s. For
this, security systems can be maintained by installing firewalls, ant viruses software’s such as
Norton, Kaspersky etc. These are some clean up tools also available which helps in making
the whole computer system error free (Catsoulis, 2009). Under this, disk clean up windows
tool helps computers in cleaning their programs and fixing all the occurred problems. User
can easily download any type of windows cleanup software’s from Softonic servers. These
tools are free and fast to download and always available. Another most effective tool is

Further, one of the major factors of any computer system is measuring their
performance (Gunther, 2011). There are different monitoring tools through which
performance of any computer system can be easily measured such as:
Open the Windows Task Manager (Press Ctrl+Alt+Del) and click on the performance
tab. It gives a total overview of CPU usage, memory and all other related information.

In addition to this, all the users using windows computer system can open Windows Resource
Monitor from the performance tab by clicking the Resource monitor button. It gives much
greater detail of the overall system performance and all other information related to the
network (Ibrahim, 2010).

1.3 Comparison of different types of computer systems and their suitability of usage in
different environment
There are mainly different categories of computer systems such as:
Supercomputer: They are extremely fast computers that are used for scientific
research. These types of computers can store large amount data and easily make any type of
calculation. It is maintained in a special room or environment in order to maintain their
business functioning (Hubbard and Forcht, 1998). It may cost as much as much as $20.
Mainframe: This type of computers allows several users at any time. It can be used
by government, companies, and airline companies for booking etc. It may cost from several
hundred thousand dollars up to $10.
Personal computers: The major concern of using these computer systems are
personal work. Under this, individual can use different computer for their personal use.

Further, all the above computer systems are used for different purpose within the
different business (Computers and computer systems, 2013). A personal computer is use for
personal purpose within the home environment. In addition to this, supercomputers are used
for the business purpose where people can easily maintain their business functioning within
the field of accounting, finance etc.
TASK 2
2.1 Various stages to follow in arriving at final specifications of recommended system
ABC Company can easily run their business in London by giving appropriate training to
all the professionals in graphic design and video editing. For this, they can introduce a new
course on different editing software’s such as: Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, Adobe Premiere
Pro CC , PaintShop Pro X7 Ultimate etc. In the classroom appropriate set up has been made
with storing computers. By this 20 students can be teach at the same time on different
software’s (Kelby, 2012). For this, they must have to review that on what specification of
computers all these software’s can be easily run. There are different requirements such as:

1. Proper classroom need to be set with placing 20 computers with all their hardware
equipments such as CPU, UPS, Key board, motherboard etc. A proper networking and
switching needs to be done (Gunther, 2011). All the computers must be functioning
properly. For this classroom student workstation need to prepare.

7. On the very next step, all the designing software which is needed to teach must be
installed in all the computers.
2.2 Justification for the
After gathering all the necessary requirements for the installation of all 3 software’s it
has been founded that most common software and hardware requirements for the computer
systems are quite compatible. The above given specifications are the best one under which all
three software’s can run properly. It clearly meets the requirements of the company. After
analysing that what is required for installing Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, Adobe Premiere Pro
CC, PaintShop Pro X7 Ultimate within the computer system user can easily identify the
common specifications (Katsuyama and et al, 2010). All the above selected specifications are
quite common on which all the tasks related to the given requirements can be performed.
Further, it can be stated that the above define Hardware/ Software specification clearly meet
the requirement of the company. All 20 systems can run these software and they can easily
train professionals in graphic design and video editing.
TASK 3
In order to make sure that the specification given above will perform the required
tasks. Company can easily give appropriate training to all the students as well as
professionals (Mariana, Daniel and Colin, 2002). For this appropriate assembling of a typical
computer needs to be done by including all the health and safety procedures.
Step by step process of assembling a typical computer:
In order to assemble a one computer system to check the functionality some tools are
essential i.e. screwdriver, anti static wrist strap, electric tape etc. Before begin, it is essential
to make sure that all the tools are there.
1. Verify that everything that is supposed to be there is actually present.
2. Prepare the motherboard
