Title
“Does the Computer networking course help in development of the skills required by employees
in the area of Network Administration”
Introduction
The main purpose of this project is to evaluate if the computer networking courses conducted in
the universities of UK are helpful in development of individual employees working in the field
of network administration in UK industries. The commercial purpose of the courses are assessed
for visualizing the governmental bodies that UK education is helpful for making effective
employees in UK governmental industries.
Computer networking is the course that includes prospects of network administration where
systems are interconnected through various network modules and thus objectives for industrial
purpose are met. As the shortages of well qualified graduates are being seen every year, the
course is to develop such worthy employees for UK industrial zone.

Computer network is a basic part of computer in now days. As an employee, everyone have
knowledge about network administration is must for an employee, as they used computers for
many works. In a computer system, networking is must for data transfer from one place to
another (Blanchet , 2010). In next part of this report, it will discuss about basic network
administration for an employee.

Discussion
The learning outcomes in the course of computer networking on the University of Bedfordshire
administer several aspects like, technical and practical skills, competence and knowledge and
most important soft skills like, teamwork, deadline considerations, presentation skills, report
writing and communication.
The technical and practical skills include knowledge of computer networking for the
maintenance of network systems. As a whole for a company in UK, the LAN, MAN and WAN
connections within the office systems are taught along with the expertise in maintaining the
network systems so that the work culture does not get affected (Morris et al., 2018). Competence
suggests innovation and invention through accurate communication with the team and develops
solutions for any problem faced by the company. The course includes working together aspect
where diversity is met and innovation is originated.
Skill set for the graduates for network administration profile
The skill sets that the employers look for in a graduate includes if the graduate incurs according
knowledge of computer networks, through which the graduate as an employee will be able to
maintain the high availability in network infrastructure so that the workplace objectives can be
met without any interception (Marcia et al. 2018).
The skills regarding the development must be included with the prospects of computer, voice and
firewall. The firewall is for internet security so that no information is lost.
The required skills for being an impressive network engineer must include,
 Establishment of network environment through proper system design (Bénédicte and
Pierre, 2017)
 Monitoring and evaluation of systems for maximizing the network performance
 Up gradation of data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
 Configuration of routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls

Justification
The justification is provided in order to assess if the skill set are good enough for the post of
network administrator in any company of UK. The skill sets suggests the graduate with such
mentioned skill set is perfect for the post of network administrator as the minimum responsibility
of the employees working in the same field includes these.
Computers are very normal in current era. It is a part of working in any industry. So, being an
employee, basic things of computers must be known for better working. Computer networking is
a simple part of networking. First thing is connecting their computer with the network. There are
so many things, which are common for an employee. There are some concepts of networking,
such as connection making, IP addressing, Bandwidth management, and network administration.
There are some certified courses for better understanding about the network administration, such
as CCNA, CCNP. It is a skill, which is required for an employee to work efficiently in an
organization (Lammle, 2011).
Sometimes few faults are occurring due to network and all the working will stop because of that
fault. It is so necessary to find out the fault and remove it without the help of a network
administrator, such as connection loss, IP address conflict, proxy server management, wireless
network, and bandwidth management (Jain, 2011). All these things are normal faults but if not
anyone is familiar with them then it is a tough form them. It is so simple for understand the
network administration and it will be a skill for a good employee. There are so many works,
which are totally based on the computer network, such as email, data surfing, and data transfer
(Liang & Yu, 2015).
Network administration is a good skill for an employee and working is so smooth, if every
employee known about basic networking. Computer networking courses are helpful for handling
basic things in working. In so many organizations, all the work is based on the internet and
private networks, so this type of skill is so important for employees (Cowley, 2012).
Currently, IPv4 version is used for the networking, but in the future IPv6 will be used for all the
systems, so basic courses are necessary for the employees. Same as many, wireless networks are
widely used in the organizations, so managing them is must require. There are so many

communication devices are present in the market, which are used in the organizations. So every
employee must know about the basic working of that system (Akyildiz & Kasimoglu, 2004).
Normal problems occurred in a network is related to local area network (LAN) and wireless local
area network (WLAN). So avoiding normal issues of network and resolve themselves is avoiding
delays in working. There are some basic courses for switch, router, and internetworking devices
by the cisco. All those courses are so helpful and develop a skill in the employees (Kenneth C.
Mansfield & Antonakos, 2009).
Conclusion
The discussion illustrates the justification for the government bodies that the education system in
UK Universities is capable of making bright employees for the government for their industrial
purpose.
It is concluded from the previous parts of this report that, basic courses are so helpful for the
employees and it will be a skill for them. Basic faults in LAN and connection will be repair by
the employee and avoid delays in working. It is also included that, all the networking
administration courses are helpful for employees as well as for organization.
