This portfolio is designed to demonstrate my understanding about Unit learning. During the last
semester of bachelor degree, I came to know that there is requirement of assistant in computer
science department. Without any second thought I applied for the same. It was my good luck that due
to my strong interpersonal communication skills, I was selected for the job. I was an active listener
during my lectures and I always asked the doubts without any hesitation. It was the time of final year
extracurricular activities and I had participated in debate competition, the topic for debate was “ICT in
education sector”. I was in opposition of this topic. For the preparation of debate I studied about ICT
(Information and communication technology in education sector). I learned about the pros and cons of
ICT from various online documents, blogs and journals. It was a great activity for me and I was enjoying
my efforts. I adopted instructions provided by my mentors to facilitate the preparation of debate. My
goal was to win this competition. I was confident that during my debate I will demonstrate my all
knowledge using a variety of expressions and gestures which will impose more confidence in my
personality. During my debate I had planned to deliver extra information about ICT to my all team
members and tried to convince them. On the day of competition, I was very concentrated on
expanding the abilities of ICT. Throughout my competition my biggest asset was my strong
communication skills. I prepared notes for discussion from sources.
During my debate I had to represent the ethical behaviors and privacy issues in working environment I
collected all the information from websites with some real examples. I represented my view as, “In any
organization the implementation of ICT is not always secure, due to the interconnection of systems

through Internet, and there are always chances of security breaches. We can see the situation like data
was intentionally deleted or corrupted by internal users and password hacking from internal or
external users”.
As a student while we use the computer systems of our college, the students do unauthorized activities
many times intentionally. They changed the system password and settings. Not all of them were same
as they belong to different culture and atmosphere.
To maintain the discipline in lab and being as assistant I suggested to my mentor that proper secured
access mechanisms must be implemented so that it can be controlled in future. I provided credentials
for system settings. To improve the performance of lab, the network of lab was shifted from simple to
client server architecture. Server was established and controlled by the managing director of CS/IT
HOD.

As per my experience, the feedback of ICT technologies is:
Cons:
1. Not all of the faculties are up to the mark to use these type of latest technologies.
2. At common working place it is not safe to save the important files.

Pros:
1. It can be used in education field for resource sharing.
2. The task can be automated by using software like ERP, Excel and cloud services of Google.
3. The delivery of lectures may be more efficient.
Recommendation
As per my opinion, the account must be different for students, faculties and administration.
Every student must have credentials and it must be updated on regular time elapsed.
Digital media devices are preferred for expressing the views which will affect the personality and
knowledge of staff.
It could be impressive for the students to prepare any project or presentation in a group
