The way Windows disk defragmenter tool helps optimize hard drives
In its life time the hard drives are often fragmented when some kind of data deletion
or removal is done from the disk. Now when the operating system tries to store a new file or
install an application on the hard drive it often tries to store on the contiguous space available
on the drive. In case the required contagious space is not available it accommodates the file
into multiple location.
In case the hard drive is too much fragmented then it becomes bad especially for the
applications while installing applications on the computer as the applications needs to be
installed over multiple locations. In this scenario the performance of the application gets
degraded as it needs to be loaded from multiple memory segments.
Use of defragmenter helps the user to manage the hard drive in such a way that new
files are allocated as much possible in the contiguous space as. Defragmenter searches the
complete hard drive and relocates data from different locations and stores in one contiguous
memory space instead of being spread.
As the basis of fragmentation of drive is the storage drive depends on the moving
parts in order to retrieve or read therefore since Solid state drives does not contain any
moving parts thus it is not necessary to use defragmenter for “Solid State drives” to optimize
seek time or reduce rotational latency.

operated using a particular OS have the same framework which helps the developers to
produce an application that will run on all the version.
Cons of update
Reduced flexibility is another concern. With the automatic update the users are
bound to install have the application in the newest applications bundled with update (may be
none of them are required by the user).
Unnecessary interference: with the automatic update the users may get into situation
where they may not know when an update is downloaded and started installing. This might
interfere with in the work they are doing at that situation.

way helps the sys admin
The System performance monitor is mainly utilized to collect and reports about the
key performance metrics for the state of the operating system. This tool displays factual as
well as graphical statistics about the system performance. The data about the system includes
utilization of CPU, hard drive, and network interfaces. Depending on the available data the
sys admin can improve performance by tuning the system and network interfaces
automatically. Some of the most important metrics that are looked after by the administrators
are, physical and virtual memory consumption by different applications and the CPU
utilization of the concerned system. For example, if the sys admin notices that the system has
over-utilized CPU/ or network interface depending on trends provided by the monitor, then
the administrator can schedule upgrade for improvement.
