1HEALTH INFORMATICS TECHNOLOGY PAPER
Executive Summary
The basic concept about the Computerized Provider Order Entry or CPOE is mostly about the
healthcare industry. The most important characteristics about this concept is that it is an
innovation which encapsulates the computer systems to request and transmit the electronic
devices and helps them in categorizing the data and information taken from the healthcare
information (Lin et al., 2017). This encapsulates several healthcare data from the departments
of medication, radiology, laboratories and orders them into the mobile devices that transmits
electronically into several compatible devices.
The idea of CPOE also helps in separating the office administration and the evidence based
institutionalization. CPOE helps in the gathering of data with legitimate request so that the
manual errors at different levels of the healthcare management and services can be improved
in quality. The order management process is thus maintained in the data management process
and the services are enhanced. The analysis of the entire research for this report helps in
understanding the different levels of CPOE and how it has been excessively providing
benefits to patient service and medication management in the removal of errors in the
physician ordering process.
The understanding of the system would help in understanding how the reduction of the
medical errors are likely to occur and how these are enhancing the service quality in the
healthcare industry. However, in some areas as well, the research process even claims that
several researches have also found that these procedures do not add up to the potential
benefits that it claims, but sometimes may even report in adding up to the increase of medical
errors that might even result into the death of the patients. Sometimes, it even enhances the
chances of increasing the death rates. The investigations were led to find out how this
accumulated information add up to either the benefit or loss for the healthcare industry.

The tests have led to enable how the CPOE frameworks helps the Clinical Information
System or CIS and how the safety is ensured in reducing or enhancing the medical errors to
acknowledge the security concerns of the system (Queenan, Kull and Devaraj, 2016). The
idea was to find out the security concerns of the systems and how these could be used to find
out the general problematic figures of the system. The poorly designed system framework
and their involvement in the medical systems will be brought to exhibit the allowance of
information in this research to even find out if the system has any challenges that it might
provide to the healthcare system. Since, this is a new system information accumulation, it
might also be problematic for the healthcare personnel to handle. This research phase is also
conducted in the report to find out if the traditional healthcare personnel have been facing
problematic situations for handling the new technology of if there are unfavorable workflow
issues in the system.
It might also be problematic to learn the new systems and the ways to handle them according
to the features specified in the CPOE framework. The more CPOE has been implemented in
the healthcare industry, it has been easier to understand how the data and information are
handled by different organizations (Coustasse et al., 2015). The analysis of the gap in the
research is given in the research as well. The analysis of the gap is to find out how the
systems of CPOE and CDSS have been implemented in the industry, how the system has
been providing benefits to the system, how it has been additionally providing challenges to
the system but having no system to find out how the challenges can be reduced for the system
solution enhancement. The designing variables that have been providing the services to the
healthcare facilities so far have been questioning the ways by which the efficiency of services
is provided to the healthcare facilities. The research report has been integrating and
summarizing the work that have been accomplishing the healthcare works done throughout
all the weeks.

The mission of the healthcare facilities is to provide the best quality services to the patients
and also integrate the work through innovations and at the same time it enhances the
integration with development of innovative factors like the CPOE and CDSS to make sure
how the planning is facilitated throughout the weeks in finding out the errors and the benefits
that the system has been providing to the people in healthcare (Haddad, Schaffer and
Wickramasinghe, 2016). The research report provides a detailed formulation of the
innovation system of CPOE through the weekly works understanding its use on the
healthcare organizations.
