Torrens University
The Torrens University is a privately operated university in Australia. It is a part of the
Laureate International University network. The campus recruitment of the university ranges
from places like Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and some other states. Established in 2012,
the respective chancellor and vice chancellor is Michael Mann AM and Justin Beilby
(Torrens.edu.au, 2019).
This university currently provides undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses in Global
Project Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Design, Commerce,
Education, and digital Media and also some higher master degree by research.
Public health consultant
It is the study and application of promoting health and preventing diseases focusing on
measures on the population level. It determines and analyses as a professional research, how
they can help to improve the issues and challenges they face in the health of the public. They
also provide information to these entities to improve the policies and the programs which
may have direct or indirect effect on the future of the health of the public. It also gives the
feedback of the findings and opinions to the government agencies, so that the data is used by
them to develop new policies and new procedures (linkedin.com, 2019). They also provide
counselling for the families and for all those who are in need for determination of options,
which are currently available for them and to improve their well-being and their health. They
consult with the hospitals to determine that they can improve the health policies and reduce
health risk. In a more specific way we can say that the public health consultant works in
groups for helping to determine in which ways they can enhance the health of public.
How to deal Ethical challenge in workshop
1. Pharmaceutical, medical device and equipment manufactures targets the nurses and
doctors primarily. To avoid conflict of interest hospitals are banning free meals logo,
notepads, pens and other presentation items (Elmusharaf, Byrne, Manandhar,
Hemmings & O’donovan, 2017).
2. Balancing the profits by serving those patients with health issues and by providing
them charity care. Nurses as well as cash are scarce resources. Health organization
must be able to balance their books to keep their door opens. Health organisation
should look how they could make important decision involving their business

operation, which is crucial for good care and fare process for education of healthcare
of patient providers at all level (Golembiewski, 2017).
3. Strong skills of analysis are very important. Collection of data and reviewing them is
one of the main challenges faced by them or us. It is the main component of their
work and being able to analyse that information effectively determines what are the
important steps that are needed to be taken.
4. Their writing skills must be very good. They must have the ability for creating a clear
and concise report. It is very important since this skill is involved in a huge portion of
the job (Trevino & Nelson, 2016).
5. Consultant should have good communication capabilities so that they could discuss
the information and the findings with their clients or with other members of the public
health or with the people to make them understand that what to do what not to do in
that case. Strong speaking and communications skills Is necessary.
6. Willingness to work in different sites or maybe different cities. In most of the cases
while doing office work some of field work may also be completed by a consultant. It
is very important to be able to work in any sites or locations given (Bailey & Burch,
2016).
For the celebration of the world Autism Awareness Day, on 2nd of April 2018, the university
launched an online course which was free and named it “the voices of Autism”. Paul
Micallef, the Co-designer of these courses, said that he believes that the courses will help in
widening the beliefs of the population and understand the condition, which is often
misunderstood. “As a person on the autism spectrum, I’ve always found it challenging to get
people to understand things from my perspective. For them, it may sound too strange. By
sharing our stories and our approach to life situations, I believe we can create an impact on
people’s understanding of our day-to-day experiences and bring real positive change for
people living with autism”, said Micallef (Adelaidenow.com.au, 2019).
Torrens university is one of the best university in Australia, Adelaide this university provides
undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses in Business Administration, Global Project
Management, Commerce, Education, Design, Public Health, and Digital Media and many
researches on Higher Degrees.
NEAS Australia endorses the couse of English Language run by this university.

Justin Beilby- In July 2005, as an Executive Dean in the Faculty of Health Sciences, he
oversees all the undergraduate trainings in dentistry, medicine, health sciences, nursing,
public health, and psychology at the University of Adelaide. He retained the positions of
Professor and the Head of the Department of General Practice from 2002 - 2005, at the
University of Adelaide. He is currently a member of the Economic Sub-Committee, and
Medical Services Advisory Committee. He has a membership of the strategic Research
Initiatives Working Group of the NHMRC. He also held the position of commissioner in
National Hospital and Health Reform Commission from 2008 – 2009 (Adelaidenow.com.au,
2019).
Torrens University is one of the fastest growing universities in Australia. It has an extremely
good environment for the students as well as the employees. The employees at Torrens
University are very skilled and hard working and have very good practical skills that are
required to provide students with a good job for future (linkedin.com, 2019). The employees
are friendly and they take care of everyone. The school has made many partners in the job
industry which help the students and the employees to reach a higher level. Being a Public
Health Consultant has many benefits including the income. The job is a difficult one but it is
very good and important for those people in need.
