Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment solution details a concrete take-off for the footings and foundation wall of the Garage Area (Rooms 100) of the Huron County Ambulance Station. The solution includes a take-off list identifying required items, and a quantity sheet calculating concrete, forming, reinforcing steel, and other associated quantities. Calculations consider concrete strength (25mpa), reinforcing bar placement, and dimensions derived from provided drawings and specifications. The take-off covers continuous footings and foundation walls, detailing the supply and placement of concrete, formwork, and reinforcing steel, with considerations for chamfers and insulation. The solution demonstrates the process of quantity surveying for concrete work, including the use of conversion factors and unit measurements.

Name:
Student No.:
Huron County Ambulance Station
Do a take-off of the concrete footings and foundation wall of the Garage Area of the building. (Area encompassing
Rooms 100).
Concrete is 25mpa strength and is purchased in cubic meters.
For the purposes of this assignment, assume there are 2 rows of 15M reinforcing bars in the footing and there are 2
rows of 15M reinforcing bars at the bottom and the top of the foundation wall.
Start your take-off by making a list of all the items that need to be identified.
Below you will find a sheet to be used to make your list and a Quantity Sheet to be used to do your take-off.
Be sure you have the conversion sheet handy for doing this activity and all other activities and assignments in the
course.
The 4 basic take-off categories for each element (Footings, Foundations, Slab-on-Grade, etc) of concrete work are;
