Date
Subject- investigating the errors in the textbook of communication and finding the
number of books required for the next semester
Introduction
I am Kelly book, Dean of the Communications department at Conestoga college. I have
found some problem with the textbook of communication. There is ambiguity regarding
the correct information in the book. The book needs to be considered again to check if it
can be used in the next semester. I do not have any relevant information so I want that
immediate action is taken on the issue and set up a student group to investigate the
issue (Santhitiwanich, Pasiphol & Tangdhanakanond, 2014). In addition to this, I want to
get appraised regarding the number of books required for the next semester.
Background
Dean of the Department of Communication of Conestoga college wants some
information regarding the textbook of communication. She also wants to know the
number of books required for the next semester. The bookstore manager has given her
the list of persons having relevant information. In addition to this, there are videos and
interview transcripts of three persons: Dave Black, Bookstore manager, Matt Hoan,
instructor, Effective writing strategies and Hector Mead, administrative assistant. Dave
Black and Hector Mead have some documents related to enrollment and registration ad
sales and inventory reports which they have submitted to Miss Kelly (Pérez & Pereira,
2016).
Methodology
I have looked into the issue. There are some errors in the textbook of communication. A
team of students is asked to investigate the issue from the outset. (Subramanyam,

2013). The information needed to be collected and presented to Miss Kelly Book, Dean
of the Department of communication. The videos and interview transcripts of the
following persons are available in Conestoga:
Dave Black, Bookstore Manager
Matt Hoan, instructor, effective writing strategies
Hector Mead, administrative assistant
In addition to videos and interview transcripts, the following documents are available:
Enrolment and Registration Reports for COMM 1234
Sales and Inventory Reports for writing effectively 3rd and 4th Editions
The textbooks cannot be distributed to students without revising the relevant
information. These information sources will definitely provide some relevant information
but the investigating group of students should not restrict itself to only these documents.
There is a need to go in depth of the issue and find out the causes of problems and the
best possible solutions. The collected information should be presented on time with all
the requirements fulfilled. The instructors need to be informed of the issue so that
necessary changes can be done in the textbook. The students cannot be provided with
the textbook having mistakes. There is need to first recognize and then remove the
mistakes. Complete investigation related to the issue is imperative in this situation.
Conclusion
Hopefully, the effective action will be taken and the issue would be resolved at the
earliest. The final version of the textbook can be deliberated upon after getting the
relevant information from the investigation. Hopefully, along with this, the issue of
finding out the number of books for the upcoming semester would be considered. The
number of books printed should match with the requirement so there is need to specify
the number of books required for the purpose.
There is a need to consider these issues at the earliest. Hopefully, the required action
will be taken and information will be provided soon. Feel free to contact in case of
queries.
