Conference and banqueting are interrelated to each other. They are a part of hospitality
industry but have a different scope and size. It includes several event management activities such
as weddings, parties, seminars, events, etc. in recent time this industry is rapidly growing. This is

In present era hospitality industry in the UK is at boom. This is due to entry of many
small and different types of business that provide various services. Among this sector conference
and banqueting industry has seen major growth. It has expanded business in different areas. This
industry has been termed as event management. The distinction of core and non-core business in
hospitality industry has influenced conference and banqueting. It has been able to provide several
types of services such as business meetings, outdoor events, concerts, live music shows, etc. This
has enabled people to get involved in those events (Coussens and King, 2017). It has attracted a
large number of people. Banqueting refers to providing effective services in an event to a group
of people. With growth of hospitality, there is positive impact of event management. It has been
estimated that economy of UK market will be £18.8 billion in coming years. Also, there was
increase in 94 million attendances in events in 2009. In this hotels organised almost 61% of
events and banquet around 70% including restaurants, bars, room service, etc. in major hotel
brands such as Hilton, Marriott etc. the total number of events organised were 6650. A
conference can be organised for a meeting or for discussion. It may be related to business,
launching new product, public announcement, etc. the following data has been collected that
shows how conference and banqueting industry is growing at rapid rate in UK.
