Maintaining the privacy and protecting the personal details of the clients or the
employees is the most complex and also the most important challenge existing within the
business information systems. It is highly essential for any and every business house to provide a
full term protection to the important details and the personal details of all its employees. It is also
a known fact that after being recruited in any business, all the general details and personal details
of the clients are registered. The clients have vested all their faith within the company while
sharing g their personal details. Hence, it is the responsibility of the company to see that there is
never any leakage of t he personal details. The company must know how to maintain its roles and
responsibilities. It must always have a feeling of com passion and care towards all its employees.
At first the company must identify and select all those information that it considers to be
confidential. It is only after this, that the company will be able to implement the necessary steps
or the preventive measures in order to keep that information private. It can also implement
several distribution policies in order to protect the following confidential in formations like the
customer information, executive communications, and intellectual property and employee
records. This issue of client privacy must be taken as a collective responsibility both by the
individuals and by the community as a whole. it is for this reason that the Government also
imposes many rule and laws and makes the company abide by it so as to ensure that there is no
com promises done with the protection of the client personal details.
The principle of common good states that, one must be very much concerned about the
general welfare of all the human beings. In other words, it must be the sole duty and
responsibility of each and every human being on earth, to look after the welfare of each other.
One of the important ways to promote the general and common good of human person is to
maintain properly, the dignity of people in their personal and professional lives. One of the

important issues that need to be dealt with properly is maintaining the privacy of the clients
(Andorno 2014).
However, the concept of the general good of the society and its people can be maintained by
following the nine fundamental doctrines of the Catholic social thought. They are
 Human Dignity
 Community and the common Good
 Role of Government
 Rights and Responsibilities
 Promotion of Peace Participation
 Dignity of Work and Rights of Workers and Stewardship of Creation
 Solidarity
 Option for the poor and vulnerable
The very first doctrine that of human dignity says, God has mad man in his own image.
Hence, it must be the duty of each and every member to work for the general good of the
society. Human life is considered to be sacred and the very foundation of social teaching is
within the dignity of human life. Hence maintaining the dignity of human beings must be
considered as one of the most important responsibility (Jacobs 2016).
Depending upon all these nine catholic thoughts, one of the major issues that can be detected
in a modern day social setup is the maintaining of the confidentiality or the privacy of its
clients (Onwuteaka‐Philipsen 2014). In any or every business profession, maintaining the
confidentiality or the privacy of the clients and the several other business information is of
utmost information. The confidential information of the clients is very much associated with

the dignity of the clients. Given in wrong hands, this information can be used for various
illegal and fraudulent activities. The Government must make strict laws to ensure that if the
company fails to protect the confidential information of the company and its clients, then it
would be thoroughly penalized (Guitián 2015). Some of the information that must be
protected is the address, contact number, email address of the employees. Apart from this, the
passwords the social security numbers and the bank account numbers must also be kept under
very strong protection. Another important confidential are is that of the health information of
the employees. It can so happen that some or the other employees have some specific kind of
health problems or infirmities. If this information is made public, then the employees can
often be subjected to huge criticisms.
Not all the employees in an organization are of a good and adjusting mind set. They c\n
often bully or look down upon their co workers based on their physical infirmities. Hence,
the company makes strict laws to ensure that the privacy of all its employees is maintained.
In other words, none of the employees working in an organization will have access to the
personal details of each other. The idea is to ensure that all the employees have mutual
respect towards each other (de Colle et al 2017). Hence, there is the implementation of the
Act of health insurance portability and accountability act. Apart from this, the salary
information of the employees is kept confidential. This is n area of high consideration,
because not all the employees are from a similar economic background. It can so happen that
some of them are coming from a poor economic background. Hence, the average family
income of those employees can be comparatively lower in comparison to others (Ortega et al
2014). Making this information public can lead to harassment of such employees. Rather it
must be the duty of the society and the company as a whole to help and support the weaker

section of the society. The promotion of the general good of the society must start at the
individual levels. The common good of all the individuals is possible only when the
individuals personally start inculcating and following these nine catholic thoughts among
themselves. Self and the community are interrelated with each other and the community can
function well only when the individuals living within it work for towards the general and the
common good.
