Changes within the organization always bring resistance among certain group of people
because of the differences in opinions and attitudes. Moreover, employees do not eel happy for
accepting changes because they believe that it will change their way of working and will cause
more stressful environment. Furthermore, implementing small scale changes is much better as it
will make people understand why change is necessary for the betterment of the organization and
for achieving certain goals on time. Also, in context of the Semco it can be said that for ensuring
more transparent and the liberal working it should use the force field analysis tool that helps in
analysing the root cause and allow taking the desired action once the problem has been identified
(Szydło and Grześ-Bukłaho, 2020). Moreover, this analysis will help the firm to create action
plan once the restraining and driving forces had been analysed properly. Hence, through its right
application Semco would be able to ensure enough morale and motivation of the employees so
that the changes might be implemented in best of manner without having any problem and
resistance level. Moreover, having the best organizational culture and participative leadership the
mangers of Semco would benefit in form of having highly motivated workforce that is ready to
overcome certain challenges in future in positive manner. However, the consequences of
providing more liberty and participative leadership strategy is that decision-making would be
slower and independent decision taken by the employees might go wrong sometimes.

Value chain is one of the significant model that is basically taken into the process so that
effective evaluation of company;'s activities can be identified. It comprises the identification of
the primary and secondary activities so that insights about the core competencies can be
identified,
Primary activities
Semco as being the supplier of marine pumps possess the primary activities such as having
inbound logistic, operation, outbound logistic, marketing & sales and after sale service (Niemi
and et.al., 2020).. for this purpose the lack of primary activities control is found in the
processing of firm as there is improper monitoring of in & out bound activities are recognized.
Secondary activities

This involves the crucial supporting activities that are exerted by Semco for having
effectual processing of supplying of marine pump to targeted audience. This comprises
procurement, technological development, human resource management, and infrastructure. From
the assessment of the provided case, it can be mentioned that having the all the materials for
supplying the pump effectively to the company so that proper outcomes can be achieved. There
is lack of HRM in the firm as employees are not coordinating, technological development s is
found effective by installing system and having proper working structure in firm.
The core competence that are found with help of the value chain analysis which indicate
that there is significant infrastructure, effective technological development, etc which is
depicting that there is effective hierarchical control system for the management can enable to
have proper functioning. The tool is important as allows to get the overall evaluation of the
activities so that significant areas' ad lacking areas can be identified.

Pestle analysis is mainly used as a tool for defining the external factors impacting the company
operations.
Political factors: The changing rules and regulation by the government as of the policies, tariffs
imposing high tax rate by the Brazilian government impact the company operations as for
supplying the marine pumps to the industries.
Economic factors: The interest rates, exchanging rates, inflation rates , wage rate, working
hours of employees and the cost of living are the various factors of Brazilian economy impacting
the Semeco in making various business decision.
Social factors: Various factors impacting the company for supplying its marine pumps as the
cultural patterns, preferences and demographics level, health and safety concern impacting the
company operations .
Technical factors : with the introduction of new technology in the Brazilian market economy
impacting the company operations when not adopting the latest technical changes for better
operations and increasing the efficiency by motivating employees
Environmental factors: the climatic changes and the environmental concern as by adopting the
CSR in company are the factors impacting the Semeco operation.
Legal factors: The legal laws changed by the government as for the consumer law, operating
with all the guidelines with improvizing the equality of safety of women and complying with all

the ethical and legal standard impacts the company operation for operating in the Brazilian
economy (AKMAN , 2020).
The organizational strategy for overcoming the challenges and opportunities would be
motivated its employees through rewards, incentives, trips, opportunities, recognition and
through employee engagement.
