Section Three: Literature review
Importance of conflict management strategies in the organisation
According to Juneja, (2020), The cause of conflict can be arisen anywhere and everywhere
due to all of us having different interest, thoughts, process and reactions and personalities
as well. but it is to be resolved by the managers or a leader if it is in organisation. In
context with Burberry, conflict management consist of certain strategies which can create
positive and negative impact both and hence employee’s performance within the working
environment. the major aim of conflict management is to teach conflict resolution skills
like self-awareness about various formats and managing conflict, reducing effective
communication within employees and with the team members (Frieiro Padín, and et.al.,
2021). These skills create positive outcome from conflict and reduce conflicts as a whole.
there is various importance of conflict management in an organisation. these are conflict
management goes a long way in strengthening the bond with each other and half of the
problems reduced or disappear with this- as when individual feel motivated at work and
they find more exciting and challenging in their task than this creates Idea and they share it
with every member within a team. so, by this conflict management avoids conflicts and it
develops bond between employees and leader as well. further it reduces stress among
employees. Next is conflict management plays important role in personal life as fights spoil
relationships and it increases the list of enemies (Importance of Conflict Management,
2020). Every person needs a friend who is standing nearby him. So, conflicts tend to
disrespect each other and results in spreading negativity. so, it is more important to
everyone to reduce fights and control on their anger. The next is conflict management
helps in finding middle way a and an alternative to any problem and successful
implementation of that Idea. As problem must be arise in every conflict and this affects
later so conflict management skills explore all the possible reasons which can reduce the
problem and it result in resolving it and most effective manner. Managers and leaders
should prevent fight at the first place and should tell employees about negative
consequences faced in a company by their conflicts. As by this people get motivated and
their stress disappear and they become a much better place which can result in positive
environment.
Various conflict management strategies used in Burberry to enhance employee’s
performance

within teams as well. there are various conflict management strategies that are being used
in Burberry managers to enhance their employee’s productivity and reducing conflicts as

well (Goleman, 2021). as there can be very causes of employee conflicts in an organisation
like lack of trust and solid relationships, unclear roles and responsibilities within a team,
unclear collaboration guidelines and working processes by the managers and leaders. there
can be conflict management strategies to handle employee conflicts are discussed. these are
do not wait or sweep it under the rug (PROVEN CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
STRATEGIES USED IN THE WORKPLACE, 2021). As sometimes there is
misrepresents of roles and responsibilities by the managers and this can cause problems in
the workplace so that managers and team leader should have to first find out the root cause
of the conflicts and then try to find out the solution for that. they should provide particular
roles and responsibilities of a every team member so that there could not be any confusion
within them. another is asking the right question as people are naturally taking defensive
stance when there is a conflict within colleagues. Other is don't wait- as try to avoid
conflict hoping ends can be resolve itself. Usually in a conflict one party suck it up and
other wins. So, manager have direct focus on resolving the issues rather than avoiding it
they immediately. They take actions which is in reducing the conflicts. Another is
navigating conflict fairly- as in this manner and should have to bring both the parties
together in presence of others and allowed them to their grievances. They don't permit
behaviour or words that can hurt them and the manipulative and controlling behaviour
should be unacceptable (Hammedi, and et.al., 2021). These are some of the conflict
management strategies that are being used in Burberry organisation to reduce fights and
working towards positive environment. Managers are training their employees in effective
manner so that they could build workable solutions to reduce their conflicts. Managers are
building various performance appraisal programs so that employees productivity finds out.
they are more focusing on employee’s engagement and conducting various programs to
build their relation with each other.
Various challenges faced by company in order to implement conflict management
strategies
According to Semczuk, (2020), Conflict management strategies help the organisation in
developing their productivity and enhancing employee’s performance but these conflict
management strategies are used by managers and leaders. there can be various challenges
faced by managers and organisation in implementing of conflict management strategies.
these can be lack of communication, teamwork difficult to handle employees, weak
workplace culture etc (Most Effective Workplace Conflict Resolution Strategies, 2020). As
these are to be faced by managers and leaders in using of conflict management strategies.
when leaders try to resolve the conflicts among employees then there might be a lack of
communication and they find manager as a culprit as well. So, employees do not respect
each other while having conflicts between them and they could not keep control on their
anger as well. Then poor team work can also become a challenge for a manager- as a
manager should have to identify the role and responsibilities of each member of a team so
that there would not be any confusion between them. if there is a confusion then this would
be led to conflicts among them and they will make responsible to other for that. other is
pressure to perform- as in this some of the managers bring pressure to achieve their targets

The main objectives of using research methodology are that it helps in selecting
appropriate frameworks and models for collecting data and information in most effective
manner. In this research, the researcher is using Research onion framework in collecting of
data and information. this model is discussed below:
Research philosophy: This is the first layer of research onion. it is providing valuable and
true information to the investigator while achieving research aims and objectives. it helps
in collecting data and information in a true and accurate manner. research philosophy
includes two of the methods that is positivism and interpretivism (Ng, and Chan, 2021).
philosophy of interpretivism is related with the form of acknowledgement in which
development can be seen in a study itself. it is observation seen in study. In this given
research positivism approach is used by investigator to get knowledge about a particular
topic, it can be directly or indirectly method. This will help the investigator in collecting
data through various other sources.
Research approaches: Research approach is the next layer used in research onion. It helps
the investigator in collecting research data and information through various approaches of
research in order to achieve aims and objectives in a systematic manner. there can be two
types of approaches which is used in this research is inductive and deductive approach of
research. In context with inductive research approach is used as the observation observed
by investigator in achieving objective. deductive approach referring to the hypothesis that
is framed for implementing the results. In this given research, researcher is using deductive
approach to collect information about a topic. deductive approach helps in gaining more
information about a particular topic. in addition, it helps investigator in attaining their
research aims and objectives by collecting true information on a given time period.
Research strategy: Research strategy is used in this research. it is used for collecting true
and accurate knowledge about a given topic that is used by researcher to achieve its in
objective. there are various types of strategies used in research to collect data and
information in a reliable form. these research strategies include interview, focus groups,
questionnaire survey, case studies and literature review etc. these strategies provide
investigator true result and helps them in achieving there aims and objective. In this given
research, researcher is using questionnaire survey to collect data in most effective manner.
Questionnaire survey is used to get results through frequencies and tables and provide
accurate results. this question is survey is to be filled by employees of Burberry. than here
is a use of literature review to collect in depth knowledge about various conflict
management strategies used in organisation. these strategies will develop investigator
knowledge and skills as well.
Data collection: Data can be connected through various methods in a research. there are
two types of data collection method (Ritzman, 2021). these are primary and secondary
method. primary method is a method in which there is a use of numerical data and graphs
to collect information about a particular topic. Secondary method is a method in which
information is collected through various other sources that is through different authors
perspective. it is a type of theoretical knowledge that is gained from different author’s
appropriate frameworks and models for collecting data and information in most effective
manner. In this research, the researcher is using Research onion framework in collecting of

about the research which provides accurate results.
Sampling methods: Sampling is the method of collecting a sample from large number of
populations. in this given research the population is large number of employees of
Burberry organisation in which some of the employees are being chosen to fill a
questionnaire form in order to collect or get information. sampling consists of two methods
probabilistic and non-probability sampling method. in this given research, non probability
sampling method is used by investigator to collect information in a perfect manner. then
there is a use of random sampling method in order to collect data because this gives equal
chance to every employee to every respondent and there could not be any biasness among
the results. the sample size with is taken in this research is 50 respondents who are the
employees of Burberry organisation (Sendall, and et.al., 2020). they are taken from every
function. these employees are given questionnaire survey which consists of open and close
ended questions related to various conflict management strategies used in company. they
have to fill it and by this interpretation is made accordingly.
Research choice: Research choice consists of two methods quantitative and qualitative
method. in this Research both of these methods are used. quantitative method is used by
investigator to collect numerical data through questionnaire survey. Which provides true
information and reliable data and qualitative data is collected through literature review
which consist of theoretical knowledge about a given topic. That is less costly as compared
to quantitative data.

I confirm that the project is not work which has been or will be submitted for another
through questionnaire survey which consists of various open and closed ended questions
and that is to be filled by employees of Burberry. by this interpretation is to be done
according to the number of frequencies received. secondary method is collected through
literature review that is through different authors perspective. literature review provides in
depth knowledge about a given topic of conflict management strategies used in Burberry
organisation. These both methods help in collecting more knowledge and true information
about the research which provides accurate results.
