2CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Case scenario 1:
The conflict resolution style that will be most suitable in case of Laura and Tara is
that of collaborating style of negotiation (Avruch, 1998). This is so because although Tara
wants Laura to reschedule her day off as the work demand will be high on that day on the
other hand she is ready to compensate Laura for the same by giving her flex time and
allowing her to take a leave as soon as possible. Therefore this will be a win-win situation for
both the parties.
Case scenario 2:
In the case of the two team members who are presently competing with each other for
the purpose of showing off their skills during the project meeting, they need to accommodate
or self-sacrifice on their objectives in order to achieve the objective of the organization as a
whole and therefore the accommodating style of conflict resolution will be most suitable and
both the members will be able to perform properly (Burton, 1990). Hence the employer will
also be happy and the employees will also bot fight against each other.
Case scenario 3:
In the case of the office picnic, both the parties want to work together and therefore
the conflict resolution style that should be selected here is the collaborating style of
leadership. The collaborating leadership style will be the most suitable because one of the
sub groups had come up with the idea of individual participation and therefore that group
should be compromising with their ideas and collaborating with the ideas of the other sub-
group and then start working together for the office picnic.

3CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Case scenario 4:
In the case of Mary and Alyssa, where Mary confronted Alyssa for spreading rumours
about her, the conflict resolution style that will be used is accommodating. This is so because
both the parties need to accommodate their opinions and objectives to reach a particular
solution. Therefore first of all both should forget about their anger and discuss the matter
properly without blaming each other or reaching any conclusion (Wallensteen, 2018).
Case scenario 5:
In the case of Mario and his wife, the conflict resolution style that needs to be used is
accommodating style. This is so because both need to sacrifice some of their personal
objectives for the purpose of achieving the main objectives that is taking care of their babies.
Hence the accommodating style of conflict resolution will be used.
