Confrontation Strategy
I have had several arguments with my colleague because we work in shifts. One time we
argued because we work in shifts. We have different schedules and I work during the night. It is
because she thinks that she has a lot of and works under pressure more than me; thus, she wanted
to switch place from time to time. We argued and I claimed that she worked in a much
disorganized way. Our argument resulted in conflict, and we could not agree to anything. In
order for us to work together, we had to get along by finding a solution.
First, we involved a mediator who would act as a neutral party and help us solve our
differences. Both of us were at fault because we blamed each other for our shortcomings that led
to more arguments (Firdous, & Anayat, 2018). According to Wolsiefer, and Stone, (2019), in
such confrontation, I could have faced it in different and better way so as to handle the situation.
Working during the day can be challenging; thus, accepting to interchange sometimes would not
lead to conflict between the both of us (Nielsen, & Angel, 2016 .Furthermore, there are strategies
that I will use if this situation comes up again, and they include. Also working on communication
skills, apologizing when appropriate, Dealing with the job instead of blaming each other could
also help to avoid arguments (Beest, van Bemmel, & Adriaansen, 2018). By doing this, it would
prevent us from having conflict again, and we will avoid getting into trouble.
