It is true that conservatism involves a sociological and sociological philosophy that
promotes maintenance of original or traditional institutions while opposing any rapid change in
the society. It puts more emphasis on continuity and stability. This is why such a philosophy
involves staying within all statutes that have defined the way of life within the constitution. In
the US, citizens are required by the law to look for services such as care insurance that may not
be availed publicly by the government from the private sector provided everything remains
within the law (Chandra, 2011). The conservatism concept in the country takes different forms
based on political ideologies such as fiscal conservatism, religious conservatism, supply-side
economics, bio-conservatism and social conservatism. Socialism on the other side involves all
citizens being able to enjoy services such as health insurance regardless of their income or social
status under universal programs of Medicaid or Medicare. However, the services are not only
related to healthcare but also touch all aspects and such things as those that citizens demand from
the leadership and leaders must provide lest they get deposed. Socialism involves everyone
putting capital in the pool to benefit all (Schumpeter, 2010). In the US, it is believed that citizens
live in a hybrid society and this ensures that they cannot exist without the bare minimum of
police, libraries, firefighters and public roads and good health care. Hence conservatism and
socialism define how people access services related to healthcare in the US, as described by the
laws within the constitution.
