Introduction
The strategies related to distribution of drugs, tobacco and alcohol adopted by the
multinationals will be described. An analysis will be done over Conspiracy theory which can
be linked with the scenario of distribution of illicit drugs. The various multinationals
including many pharmaceutical and drugs manufacturing Companies are supplying drugs,
tobacco and alcohol among the people of the country because of making the people addicted
to these drugs. The illicit activities of the companies will be highlighted and their impact
over the health of the people will also be analysed.
Conspiracy theory
Conspiracy theory defines that an event or set of circumstances is a result of secret
plots by usually powerful conspirators. This theory stated that every circumstance is a result
of conspirator’s plan. The cognitive mind-set of a person is responsible for the overall result
related to any result or situation (Douglas, 2017).
As discussed with this topic, it can be easily said that multinationals are encouraging
the addiction for their personal benefits. Conspiracy theory explains that all events or
situations are the results of secret plans (Merriam-Webster, 2020).
The poor health conditions are also the results of secret plans of multinationals
because they are intentionally trying to enhance the addiction inside the persons. This is the
major reason behind the poor mental health conditions of people (Douglas, 2017).
Distribution of abusive drugs, tobacco and alcohol
Many illicit manufacturers of addictive drugs like Methamphetamine, heroine,
cannabis are distributing these drugs among the public of the country to make the people
addict about consumption of these drugs. Those Companies and multinationals that are
involved in drugs supplying and drug trafficking are distributing these drugs through
clandestine methods only for receiving a large amount of profit (Guerrero, 2020).
The addictive nature of these drugs make the people purchase it again and again
because after a prolonged consumption of addictive drugs person can-not live in a normal

position without having the drugs. However, the addictive drugs very severely affect the
physical and mental health of the person but still many companies are illegally distributing
these drugs for making profits. Only because of their benefit, these multinationals are playing
from the health of the persons. Same scenario explained by CT that every situation is a result
of secret plans (M Butter, 2020).
This situation is also linked with Conspiracy Theory (CT) which stated that every
situation is a result of secret plans. It may be seen very frequently that once a person is get
addicted for the drugs, he may take any step to capture or purchase the addictive drugs. Many
people become violent for purchasing the drugs and adopt aggressive behaviour if they do not
receive the drugs (Stamm, 2020). The consumption of cocaine and heroin are keeping on an
increase in the country despite of having a lot of regulation in the distribution of these drugs
(J Broséus, 2016).
Illicit trafficking of drugs
Despite of ban on the open sailing of the harmful drugs, the multinationals are able to
sale the addictive drugs by taking help of local vendors, local people and local group of
people. Multinationals are trying to create addiction among the public so that the abusive
drugs should always be in demand. The multinationals are always find illegal ways and
techniques to encourage the addiction by supplying the drugs, tobacco and alcohol to the
people of the country and earning a lot of profit by selling the abusive drugs. Once the people
get addicted to drug, they can pay any cost to purchase the drug and can go up-to any extent
to purchase the harmful drugs and alcohol (Pashang, 2019).
The addictive nature of the abusive drugs make the person addicted to intake it and
this is the major reason for which the multinationals supply these drugs through illegal and
illicit methods so that they can make the people addicted to it and they can earn a significant
profit by supplying abusive drugs (Canada G. o., 2020).
The government legislations to control the supply of illicit drugs
In 2007, the government of Canada implemented the ‘National Anti- drugs strategy’
to control and reduce the supply and demand of the illicit drugs but still the cases of drugs
abuse and substance misuse are increasing day by day. The clandestine and illegal supply of

the addictive drugs is the major cause behind this scenario. Many multinationals do not
follow the regulations and guidelines of the government and supplying the addictive drugs for
their personal benefits at the cost of health of the people of the country (Canada G. o., 2020).
In a research it was found that in between January 2016 to September 10,300 people
were died because of excessive consumption of opioid (Canada T. g., 2020). Most of the
vehicle accidental cases take place because of excessive consumption of alcohol and other
addictive drugs that is why government of Canada is very much concerned for reducing the
use of addictive drugs. Many regulations and laws are enforced on multinational companies
for improving the health of the people of the country but still many companies are able to
supply the illicit drugs. The opioid crisis was the result of illicit drug supply by multinational
companies. Bad intentions of the multinational companies are known by most of the people
but still the government is not able to fully control this illicit supply of drugs (Canada T. g.,
2020).
Encouraging addiction by multinationals
Multinationals are encouraging the addiction in the people of the country by
supplying illicit drugs so that they can earn profit by increasing demand of the drugs. The
nature of addictive drugs is highly destructive for the health of the person. The repetitive
habits of consumptions of illicit drugs increase the demand of these costly drugs in the
market and multinational companies make profit through it and supply these drugs at a very
high price (P Kaur, 2020). They are earning a lump sum amount at the cost of health of many
people of the nation. They do not bother about poor health conditions caused by the
consumption of these drugs on a regular base (J Broséus, 2016).
Excessive use of alcohol also results in a high increase in the demand of alcohol in the
market. The multinationals are distributing alcohol in different forms to make the people
addict of alcohol. Prolonged use of alcohol leads towards poor digestive system because
alcohol damages the functions of liver. Excessive alcohol badly impact over the brain
functions of the person and in many cases, person loose the sense of right or wrong. Many
crimes have been done under the influence of alcohol that is why constant consumption of
alcohol is extremely harmful for health. Still the companies are trying to enhance the demand
of alcohol by distributing it through local vendors. They try their best to provide supply of
alcohol whether legally or illegally. High consumption of alcohol is also a major cause of

vehicle accidental cases. In many drug abuse cases, the person was usually influenced by
alcohol. The cases of domestic violence and crimes are increasing because of the excessive
consumption of alcohol (Barrett, 2019).
Use of tobacco is also very detrimental for the lungs of the person. Many forms of
cancer like mouth cancer, lungs cancer and other diseases are developed sue to the constant
consumption of tobacco. Poor health conditions are the major consequences of in taking
tobacco for a long period. Lungs cancer and throat cancer are the major diseases which are
caused by intake of tobacco in different forms. Diseases of lungs are correlated with the
intake of tobacco. However the government has implemented laws related to tobacco and
other harmful substances but still because of the addictive nature of tobacco, the demand of
this substance is also on an increase (B Fischer, 2019).
Conclusion
On the bases of the above analysis, it can be said that multinationals are trying to
enhance the demand of the illicit drugs, alcohol and tobacco despite of knowing their
extremely harmful effect. The CT also explained this scenario. The government of Canada
has been implemented laws and Acts to safe their public from the harmful drugs and alcohol
but still the multinational companies are doing illicit supply of the drugs and encouraging the
addiction among the people so that the demand of these drugs will always remain high.
The harmful and detrimental effect of the abusive drugs, tobacco and alcohol are causing the
poor health of the people of the country that is why strict laws and Acts should be framed for
avoiding these strategies of multinationals. The public safety is an imperative step for the
government of the country. The encouragement of the addiction of the drugs should be
controlled by adopting more strict laws and enforcements.
