Overview of the Roles for the Construction graduates
Construction Manager: The main task or the job role of the construction manager is to
negotiate a particular contract, to hire a subcontractor and the inspection of the plumbing
installation issues. At various instances he is also referred to as the site manager who is entrusted
with the basic responsibility of the directing the various construction operations in the domain of
a particular building project. The construction manager must also ensure that the construction
project is completed within the stipulated time, the expenses of the construction should be
incurred within the budget allotted for that particular construction and should be completed
within the safety standards and the regulatory guidelines (Kurien and Brilakis 2018).
Fire Risk Assessor: The main job responsibility of the fire risk assessor is to identify the
various fire hazards and the associated risks that will be recorded within the various findings and
will eventually advise the prevention associated with the fire risks as well the inclusion of the
risks and the evaluation of those risks. The fire risks are generally reviewed within the period of
2 years and the same review is redone within a period of 4 years. The fire risk assessors also
assess prepare the different emergency plans that will provide the adequate form of the training
to the different employees that will update the review of the various instances of the fire risks
(He and Sun 2019).
Building Control Surveyor: The different responsibilities of the building control
surveyor are the to evaluate the work performed by the various building surveyors in order to
ensure that the different regulations of the construction activities are properly followed and
monitored. They are also referred to as the building control inspectors who are entrusted with the
responsibility of the maintenance, alteration and the restoration of the various buildings at the
time of the initiation of the new building projects that have been executed by the authorities of

the local planning frameworks. The responsibility include the extension of the conservatory or
any form of the private house construction in the city or the town. The construction workers and
the various public planning networks are entrusted with the issue of the particular proposed
construction work (Tymvios and Gambatese 2016).
Estates Manager: The estate manager has the main responsibility of the reviewing of the
day to day running of the private estates. The estate manager also ha eh basic job responsibility
of the maintenance, supervision of the other staff members in the context of the maintenance of
the allocated budget and the other associated events. This situation may arise because of the
various land management measures that will play the most fundamental role in the context. The
estates manager is also in charge of the operation of the entire estates property in order to attain
the details of the job when the owner fails to attend and report to such job details (Toole and
Abowitz 2017).

Outline of the Job and its daily Responsibilities: The job responsibilities include the
framework of the overall planning for that particular project along with the distribution of the
various resources, the time management measures along with the management of the budgetary
allocations, the management of the associated staff and the other key stakeholders for that
particular project (Alomari and Gambatese 2016).
Essential Skills and Qualities: The construction managers should possess the skills of
excellent c communication skills for the effective management of the particular project, should
possess the necessary abilities to delegate the important tasks and to prioritize the associated

activities along with the enhancement of the value of the teamwork approach in order to solve
the various problems with the proper level of the skills. The construction manager should be able
to possess the various skills required for solving the job specific problems and to give the final
shape to the particular construction project.
Required Qualification, Membership and Certification: The required qualifications in
order to become a construction manager includes the degree of the high school diploma or the
score of the GED before applying for the particular job role. Those who already possess a degree
can further enhance their skills by pursuing the advanced math class and by completing the
apprenticeship course before applying for the job (Pillsbury et.al 2020).
Pay Scales: The pay scale of the construction worker ranges from $29,590 on an annual
basis to $58,500 per year. According to the statistics of 2019. The highest salary was given to the
construction managers of the New Hampshire Construction site where the managers were paid
$16.87 per hour and $35,096 on an annual basis (Neuhausen,Teizer and König 2018).
Strengths and challenges of the job: The construction mangers enjoy great flexibility in
this type of job role and they work in the most stable economic conditions which act as the best
part of this job role. The challenges of the job of the construction manager are often they have to
work in the environment of poor technological development, in the environment of poor
communication networks and other such coordination issues which pose a restriction on this type
of the job role (Choi and Lee 2017).

The evaluation and the review of any particular construction project has interest me the
most and have been the triggering reasons for me to choose this particular job career. I shall take
great interest in my innovative capability in the evaluation of the project within the allocated
time and the allocated budget.
What makes me feel I am suitable for this job?
I have always taken a lot of interest in any type of innovative work and this has by far
been my biggest strength. The role of the construction manager deals with the different forms of
the creative and the innovative frameworks that will guide me to exercise the best of my
capabilities.
Challenges that I may face
The challenges that I may face is the lack of proper technological and advancement and
to ensure the safety standards of the other staff.
How shall I extend and develop myself as a professional in this field?
I shall develop myself as the professional in this field by enhancing my skills even after
obtaining the degrees required for being the construction manager. Also I should never leave
single opportunity to learn in the process b=after shouldering in the job responsibility.
