Introduction
The construction industry is an organization that has the responsibility of creation of physical
infrastructures. This industry can certainly not be compared with production as it doesn’t involve
production of a unit product in a huge number and that also without having assured purchasers,
in architecture the projects start only prior to the assurance of the client. The architectural
industry has a huge market value around the world; around 5-10% of GDP of a nation is
contributed by the construction industries only. Architecture of any infrastructure can be on a big
or not so big scale that depends on the budget and need of the purchaser.

LO1 Evaluate different types of construction information in the context of diverse project
types.
a) Explain the use of construction information in the context of the given
project.
Construction information is used in creation of the whole plan of the construction in order to have a
direction in which the whole construction work has to flow. The basic use of the construction
information is to have a design of various components of the infrastructure that has to be made in the
whole project such as, electrical connections, plumbing connections, sewers, architecture etc (Kim,
2013).

b ) Describe the different types of construction information and their uses. What type of
construction information will you use for the current scenario and justify their use?
Following are the types of construction information (Kim, 2013).
1) Architectural Drawing: It has all the information of the projects like location, site plan, setting
out plans, elevation, section and plenty of more information.
2) Structural Drawing: The Structural Drawing has every detail regarding the interventions of the
structures that are that are going to arrive on an infrastructure. It also consists of different type of
drawings with small detailing and descriptions (Kim, 2013).
3) Electrical Drawing: This type of construction information provides the details regarding the
electrical connections that are to be done in the building
4) Plumbing Drawings: As the name suggests, this type of construction information provides the
details of all the plumbing related connections

c) Compare different types of construction information to identify their
suitability in specific contexts
Following are the different types of construction information.

The construction type that was chosen in both of the tasks that are the task 1 and task 2 was the
architectural design because it superficially covers almost all the other types of the construction
information and hence is said to be the mother of all the design that are made in the architectural field.

LO3 Interpret different types of construction information in order to
explain a construction project
a) Relate a set of construction drawings to a specification.
A construction drawing can be of any kind such as plumbing design or electricity design etc. Both of
these designs have their own set that is formed to lay the pipelines and wires for in different part of
house but yet both are very much related as to lay a pipe, the positioning of the wires in that area must
be kept in mind.

b) Evaluate construction drawings and details to identify errors and clashes
Following are the types of design errors that are observed in construction
 Incomplete Plans- If the plans aren’t properly been made, than many problems may occur
 Non Coordinated Plans- If all teams are not in coordination and communication
 Lack of detailing in the drawing
 Wrong Review from the Supervisor

c) Critique a body of construction information, identifying errors and
discrepancies.
The above mentioned issues are most likely to appear in case of improper supervision of the project.
Proper communication between all the teams is very necessary in the constructional business; this
caused to innovation of new ideas and also reduces the risk of mistakes

d) Propose corrections to construction drawings and specifications using
industry standard forms of notation.
