Introduction
This particular assignment is based on construction management and how some of the key
project management processes can be chosen to complete the following tasks. In this assignment,
to reflect upon the needs, which will be required to fulfill the application for approval. To need
approval, there are certain tasks and processes under the guidance of PMBOK, which will be
discussed in this particular assignment. This assignment will identify and explain all the project
management processes which will be learned according to the aspects provided.

1. Select and explain the project management processes under PMBOK.
The project management processes involved in the construction management involves process
under initiation, planning, monitoring, and execution. This part of the assignment will select the
suitable project management processes which will be useful to establish and explain how these
processes are helpful in the selection of the land and buying the suburb.
1.a) In a selection of the land
In the project initiation process, a Project charter is crucial to be included. In the selection of the
land, there are many activities, involving checking of the quality of the soil, checking or
researching about the nearby resources, from the location of the land. The size of the land is also
a crucial part of the project. Hence in the initiation process, project charter will be helpful in the
selection of the land. the project charter will help them to initiate the project management
processes, including the activities listed according to the priorities in the project charter.
The project charter is a document which is useful in the starting of the project. A project charter
will involve all the stakeholders and the project participants along with the project participants.
A project charter will involve all the important parts or aspects, such as the period of
construction or how long the project will go on. The project charter will also involve the budget
of the project because the selection of the land will depend on the budget set by the client.

b) Deciding the land size to buy
The land size of the project is dependent on the purpose of the house. It also depends on the
number of family members who will live in the new suburb. The processes which will be useful
in the selection of the land size are project charter, and in the planning group; scope management
plan and process quality checklist will be used. Here the project charter will help to check that
the size of the land selected is fulfilling all the required needs of the client. In the project charter,
it will help clients to know the number of rooms in the suburb. The size of the land will be
chosen according to the needs of the clients. If the client needs more rooms, in less space, then
the land will be chosen accordingly. In the selection of the land, and the layout given for the
selection of the suburb, the raw materials used, and the equipment available for the usage, will be
considered during the project of the construction.
In the selection of the land size, the quality of the soil will be checked. For this purpose, the
quality of the soil will be tested, and for this purpose, the quality product checklist process will
be helpful. It will help them to check all the quality requirements which are ideal for the
construction. The moisture content, the grain in the soil are some of the key quality prospectus,
which will be checked under product quality checklist (AlSehaimi, 2013).

Here if we consider the scope management plan, it is useful in the selection of the land size,
because of the scope of building the suburb with the exact required structure and layout. The
scope management process is also important to be included in the construction of the house. The

c) Choosing the best builder.

which can be included in the completion of the project. The product quality checklist process
helps build the chart of the project, including the activities which will be performed by the
builder. In the change request process, any change in the raw materials, or the suppliers
according to the set policies and desired objectives will reflect upon the needs of the construction
(Hegazy, 2013).
At different time frame. It is important from the builder perspective, to consider all the

changes only applicable when the project change request is completed, or the earlier tasks been
modified.
d) Identify the stakeholders for the project
In the selection of the stakeholders, it is important for them, to select those stakeholders who
fulfill the scope of the project. The cost management plan should also be considered because the
cost management planning will be helpful in the selection of the stakeholders, because the
stakeholders are liable to the cost of the project or the budget of the project.

Construction projects have too much risk, and risk can be physical risks, or financial risks
because there are numerous factors which may affect the risks involved in the project. Risk
management processes are very important in the planning process for the identification of the
stakeholders. Construction projects can get hampered due to weather changes. Such stoppage
of construction will bring various risks involving the risk of financial instability and issues
regarding the supply process from the suppliers of the equipment and raw materials.

Policies of management: It is quite important to understand or follow the policies which are set

suburb, the climatic condition of the location, along with the contours and topography are an
important part of the layout process. Policies usually have all the required geographical
conditions and other policies regarding the selection of the raw materials. There are numerous

the layout of the project or house.

The process of production: The process of production is also affecting the selection of the
layout. When the production of the suburb is in masses, usually the layout for all the suburb will
be same. Here the set standards will be fixed, and all the criteria will be fixed, which will set the
reference before building the suburb. In the batch production process, more than one suburb will
be constructed one after the other, which will set the layout of the suburb fixed (Jaeger, 2012).
2.b) Project management processes that are used for 2(a) are explained in detail.
In the project scope managing process and product quality checklist will be helpful in the
selection of the land and size of the layout. In the choice made by the project client, scope
management plan and product checklist process will be helpful in the selection of the
stakeholders and to check whether the Gantt chart so formed is completed on time or not. The
guidelines given by the Australian government in the construction management should be

In the factors given or discussed above, the selection of the sites will come under deliverables
and change request management. The land selected will go under certain tests regarding the
soil, because the soil for the construction purpose requires a standard quality of soil and

In the determination of the design and layout processes, the project charter is a crucial part of the
initiation process. Project charter is the documents, which is generated for the selection of the

changes only applicable when the project change request is completed, or the earlier tasks been
modified.
In the selection of the raw materials, also quality management plan is important to be include,
because the raw materials in the construction process such as cement, bars, size and concrete
blocks, the ratio of the cement to water, should be set in the project charter, which will further be
followed by quality management process. The quality and strength of the concrete which will be
used in the project, have different strength proportion, by the project scope and proportion of the
cement to water and other minerals, included in strengthening the concrete.
In the execution process, the product quality checklist and project status report are two
important processes which should be included during the execution process of the project
management. The change request process is important because once the project proportion is
set along with the set layout of the suburb, any change in the proportion due to addition or
removal of a room, will reflect on to the change request process.
The project status report is an important part of the construction management. The project status
report is helpful to take care of the activities running in the project of construction. It is because
in the construction processes, activities one after the other at the right time. The project status
report is important to be included in the project management processes because all the aspects
available in the system, should reflect upon the key important parts in the project management
process. The change request process and the deliverables are involved in the execution process
group of PMBOK. In the change request process, any change in the raw materials, or the
suppliers according to the set policies and desired objectives will reflect upon the needs of the
construction. In the deliverables process, all the equipment and raw materials which will be
delivered in the process of construction will be reflected and obtained as an important part in the
project discussions and boards. It is important to note that the important execution plan available
in the project management process should involve some of the important parts in the department
of construction.
The project management process includes process under the guidance of PMBOK, which says
that the processes in the project management, are divided into 5 sub-groups, involving Imitation,

planning, execution, monitoring, and maintenance. In the initiation process, all the activities
which come under the project management initiation and other subgroups such as planning,
maintenance, and execution process involved in the particular project objective selected.
3. Detailed explanations are provided to achieve lean project management for this
initiative.
In various operational processes, the lean project management tool is crucial tools which will
help save the time and money of the project client. It is important to note that there are many
processes involving which, the practices will stabilize the business partners, to gain the process
of a successful house. If we talk about the processes involved in it, then we can talk about the
flow of work included in the process. The flow of work should be smooth enough so that every
task following the other task is linked with each other conceptually.
There are many projects under the contract, which will emphasize gaining loans from the
government.
The work or task should be linked with the previous task which will make the process smooth
enough, such a smooth process will create less of issues and wrongdoing. If more than one work
is done, taking an example, we can say that once the land is selected the objective of the project
manager is to link the task above with the previous tasks. The contracts which are involved here
will have all the important legal aspects included in the tasks to understand the practices,
