Overview
This particular report depicts the goal, objectives and processes those are necessary to be
followed by the project managers while selecting the construction manager for a particular
project. A successful construction project could provide both education as well as long term
survival experience to the consumers. In order to select the construction manager an award
program for bid, different types of contracts and all the alternative construction selection
approaches are also elaborated in this report.
1. Selection criteria of a construction manager
The construction managers are responsible to develop the blueprint of the site in terms of
overall planning, time table development, labor cost, material determining, negotiation and
hiring subcontractors for the construction project (Jelodar, Yiu & Wilkinson, 2016). In order to
select a construction manager for a construction project it is necessary to consider certain
selection criteria in terms of job skills and requirements as well and those are as follows:
Analytical skills: People who are good in large scale planning, multi scale projects must
be selected as a construction manager.
Decision making: They must have unique decision making power.
Management skills: The construction managers are required to lead their project team for
keeping them motivated engage to their job roles.
Communication: In order to deal with the clients the construction managers are needed
to have proper communication power (Chin & Hamid, 2015).

Technical skills: They should have ideas about construction methodologies, blueprint
reading capacity and other technical knowledge from the construction perspectives.
Time management: Apart from this, the main criteria that a construction manager
should possess are time management that is focus on completing the project within estimated
time and budget (Eriksson et al., 2014). In order to promote and spread the success story of the
project leaders a team works successfully. Business Initiatives Directors (BID) are responsible to
lead their construction companies and projects in international events and conventions.
2. The award program for the BID
The BID quality award is referred to as a mark of excellence that has been achieved by
the constructors for continuous project improvement. Continuous project improvement is the
driver of innovation which decides the path through which the project should progress (Chin &
Hamid, 2015).
DNA of the BID award: It helps to recognize the achievement, progress and improved
productivity proposed by the construction project manager and the business leaders who have
reached the unreachable desire.

Different types of contracts are there those are developed based upon various components
such as:

contracts
 They must be aware about the business aim and critical success factors
