Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer is also referred to as the cost estimator where the individual tends to
quantify the cost associated with the labour, equipment and material which are necessary for the
completion of the construction project (Xie and Liu, 2017). The key responsibility associated
with the Chief Financial Officer is to accurately estimate the cost of the work to complete
specific project. They are also responsible for computing the time required to carry out specific
project. The Work health and safety tends to focus on developing various guidelines which in
turn helps in carrying out the work in a systematic and appropriate manner. The building
estimator is interconnected with the site manager as it helps in setting clear guideline how the
capital must be used to complete specific project (Windsor, 2017). Bachelor’s degree in the
construction and industry related field such as construction management degree, engineering
degree and finance degree are key qualification required for this role. Qualification or
certification course in cost estimation software and techniques such as building information
modelling and computer aided designed software adds value to the person.
The career structure for the Chief Financial Officer is very wide. They can work as an
accountant, auditor, financial analyst, investigators, construction mangers, industrial production
manager, etc. The institute or association which support this role of Chief Financial Officer is

Site Manager
The site manager is the person who tends to make sure that the construction project is completed

effectively maintain a quality control procedure and also tends to focus on ensuring the site
safety. Another key responsibility of the site manager is to monitor the progress of the

The site manager, civil engineer and certifier are interconnected with each other (Zanni, Soetanto
and Ruikar, 2017). The certifier tends to focus on ensuring that the work is carried out in legal
manner and the civil engineer plan and design the construction and site manager make sure that
project is carried in accordance with the specific guidelines set by certifier and civil engineer.

degree in civil engineering, chartership in Chartered Institute of Building. Extensive degree of
experience within the construction industry (Shamsuddin and et.al., 2015). The work health

efficiency. The career structure for the site manager mainly comprises of project managers,
general contractors, construction coordinators, construction superintendents, developers,

Certifier
The key responsibility associated with the inspection of the project before carrying out the
specific set of project. They are highly responsible for ensuring that the project is completed in
relation with the specific approved building plan and standards (Merschbrock and Munkvold,
2015). One of the major responsibility is to supervise the working of the specific project and
ensuring if the builder is complying with the contract and appropriate quality control has been
made. Certifier roles and responsibility is highly linked with the various other regulators,
external stakeholders, internal stakeholders and senior internal stakeholders in order to make sure
that the roles are effectively performed by each of the individual responsible for the completion
of the construction project.
The key qualifications required by the building certifier is to indulge in BPB Certification
course. Carrying out Bachelors and professional degree in the construction. The career structure
for the certifier is that they to spend high degree of considerable time in inspecting the worksite

Gollan, 2015). The key responsibility associated with the civil engineer is to build a sustainable

construction building which helps in protecting the environment within one lives (Zanni,
Soetanto and Ruikar, 2017). It tends to oversee the maintenance and construction of the specific
project such as tunnels, roads, dams, railways, power plant, bridges, airports, harbours, etc. The
key qualifications completed to be a civil engineer are to gain bachelor’s degree in engineering
and professional degree in civil engineering and must also have a professional Engineer licence.
The career structure for the civil engineer is very wide and can gain various jobs in the
construction field related with the building control surveyor, consulting civil engineer, structural
engineer, patent attorney, sustainability consultant, quantity surveyor, site engineer, etc. This
way it helps individuals in building an effective career and path and reaching set objective. The
