Executive Summary
The case study that was majorly written by an individual known as victoria is known to
have the potential of investigating an accident that was experienced within a Melbourne job site
and is known to have led to the emergence of electrocution of an apprentice. The twenty six year
old individual who was known to be originating from Melbourne district area is known to have
been sent to carry out various tasks and at the same time he was unsupervised. The individual
was able to encounter a work related injury that made his life to be at risk and also made him to
sustain serious injuries that were able to emerge as a result of various factors (Birk et al. 2016).
This was a situation that was able to capture the attention of different organizations most so the
ones who were not able to pay much attention in various aspects of work related injuries. This is
the time when they were able to realize some of the resulting effects that are likely to emerge
when different issues associated with workplace safety are not given the first priority within an
organization. The entire scenario was able to take place due to failure to comply to certain rules

Case description
The 3 point electronic Pty Ltd is the major organization that played a role in sending the

number of cables in the home that were majorly meant for the smoke alarms. The twenty six year
old personality was on top of the roof and that is when his hand made contact with the visible
live cables, an act that made him to be electrocuted in scenario. This made him to sustain serious
injuries. Later on the fire fighters who were able to respond to the scene began their investigation
and were able to come up with a conclusion that all the circuit breakers that were situated on the
main switch board were actively on during that time. On the other hand, when the work safe
investigation was also carried out, it came up with a final conclusion which clearly indicates that
the entire corporation failed to carry out some preparations on safe work method statement for
the entire work (Cohn and Wardlaw 2016). AS far as the information obtained from the head of
work safe’s department was concerned Michael Coffey clearly believed that it was not the right
thing for an apprentice electrician to be able to carry out an electrical work without obtaining an

the apprentice was attached to had not followed the exact duty of care together with the well-

different charges. Moreover, according the section 21 of the occupational health and safety work
act, the entire Company was fined a total of $ 6068 in relation to the cost and at the same time it

Work related injuries has been a major safety issue that has caused a lot of threats to
different employees with the ones working in dangerous environmental conditions being the ones

regulations. On the other hand, since the company was not able to send an expert who was to
accompany the electrician to the site, there was nowhere the apprentice electrician could take a
proper guidance in relation to some of the operations that was expected of him right before
conducting the entire work (Kunyk et al. 2016). According to the rules and regulations that are
attached to the OSH sector, such incidences require one of the most advanced attentions so far
since at some point they might look smaller yet their resulting outcome is very fatal and that is

Comparing work place safety with what it used to be in the early days, it is much clear
that it has really encountered quite a number of changes that has led to a significant development
in different sectors. When organizations continue to give workplace safety much attention, there
is a high probability of the entire situation being eradicated at a faster rate in the coming future
thus improving the performance together with the level of efforts being injected by the
employees. This will further increase the performance of quite a number of organizations.
Handling of work related injuries requires the use of different forms of advanced techniques that
can be easily understood by various personalities including the employees. Moreover, better part
of strategies for accident prevention is known to be fully depending on the nature of employees
