Report
AI Summary
This report addresses the critical aspects of safety and sustainability within the construction industry. It begins by outlining essential health and safety measures for construction sites, emphasizing the importance of protective equipment, fall protection systems, and adherence to safety protocols to safeguard workers. The report then delves into the environmental impacts of construction, highlighting energy consumption, pollution, and the use of raw materials. It underscores the need for sustainable practices to mitigate these effects, referencing the significant environmental impact of construction, such as high energy consumption, pollution and the need for the use of the right raw materials. The report also discusses the benefits of incorporating sustainability into construction design, including the development of green buildings, reduced operational costs, and lower carbon footprints. It stresses the importance of choosing environmentally friendly materials and implementing sustainable design principles to optimize resource use and minimize environmental harm. The report concludes by emphasizing the need for comprehensive safety programs and training to prevent accidents and promote a sustainable approach to construction projects. The report includes references from various authors and journals to support the arguments and the statements made.

1SAFTEY AND SUSTANABILITY IN CONSTRUCTION
Answer to the question no 1:
Construction of building maintaining the health and safety issues:
During the construction of the building some of the health and safety issues are
needed to be considered those will ensure the safety of the workers working at the site. The
workers at the construction site are require to ware protection system so that they can protect
themselves from edges. Guardrails are used for the fall protection (Saunders 2015). Apart
from that safety nets and the personal fall arrest system can be helpful for the workers to
prevent the fall.
The workers at the construction site have to use hard hats while working. Apart from
that the workers has to wear sturdy and non-skid work boots to prevent slips, falls and getting
injured.
Workers should be aware about the maximum workload while working on scaffolds.
Apart from that the managers of the construction site needs to implement the safety programs
to prevent the accidents at site.
The components and the materials used during the development of the construction
are needed to be safe for the employees (Shin 2015). In some cases, it has been seen that the
materials those are used for the construction purpose are not environment friendly and have
harmful effects on the health of the workers.
The workers are needed to be trained before lifting the aerial lift. The safety
equipment are needed to be reviewed in a proper way. The management at the construction
site needs to the proper actions in order to prevent the hazards during the development of the
construction.

Answer to the question no 2:
Environmental issues during the construction of the building:
While the development of the construction, there are some of the environmental
issues those have certain impacts on the health and life style of the people. One of the
concerned issues regarding the environment is the consumption of the energy. It has been
seen that 72% of the energy consumption in US is occur during the development of the
construction (Wright 2016). Apart from that construction causes pollution and is responsible
for the one third of industrial pollution.
The major environmental impact due to the construction are the excess use of energy,
change in the climate, water pollution, consumption of the excessive raw materials. The
choice of selecting the raw material is important as using the toxic material in the
construction project can cause soli pollution. In this case, the example to massive
urbanization and the construction development at Middle East countries (Wright 2016). It has
been seen that the environmental factors and biosphere are being affected in negative way
through this massive urbanization.
Importance of maintaining sustainability in the design of the construction:
Maintaining sustainability in construction implies the idea that the development of the
construction will meet all the requirements (Mok, Shen and Yang 2015). However, the
practice of the construction will support the scopes and opportunities for the betterment in
future.
The importance of maintain the sustainability of the design is that it will help to
mitigate the environmental issues along with meeting all the requirements. Maintaining the
sustainability in the business will help to develop the concept of green building. This will
help to lower the total operational costs and the usage of energy. Moreover, practice of the

sustainable design will help to lower the carbon foot print. The design will help to optimize
the use of the raw materials as well as lowering the operational costs.
