Discuss the key drivers of innovation in UK construction
An organisation is having standards of managing innovation in construction that will help to reap
into significant rewards. There is need of innovation among the companies of construction as
these help to manage long as well as short term success. There is integration and of company’s
management processes for innovating the process. There is need to manage integration of
management processes of company and overall strategy has to be managed. There are different
drivers of construction innovation within UK which are involved in sustainability of the
construction projects. Some of the drivers include technological capability, and mental pressure,
boundary spanning and knowledge exchange.
Environmental pressure: market well is defined as an active driver of innovation and when
market is not demanding any new Innovation then there are no chances of new booking. That is
why the need of sustainability and environmental pressure focuses upon the government to
increase the construction of UK.
Technological capability: according to the new techniques and tools used in the construction, the
construction projects of UK are changing automatically.
Knowledge exchange: As for the government stimulated research and development within
sustainability at research and universities, it is analyzed that different organizations are looking
for new innovations within construction industry.
Boundary spanning: there is integration of designing and building of activities which is a
common practice within UK. There are several architects which are consulting their clients and
contractors in order to start a new designing process which will be useful for finalizing the
designing stage. There will be various clients which will be involved in specific fulfilling of
wishes and demands of people ask for the sustainability factors. So contractors are also an
essential part of the working of construction comporting.

Give examples of three measures for evaluating progress and success in level of innovation in
construction
Innovation within construction projects of UK are very popular. These are helpful for
improvement within product, process and services. It includes incorporation of several ideas that
are useful for generating the changes and solving needs of the company. The application of
innovation within construction industry is related to development and growth of wider economy.
Innovation needs to be managed in efficient manner in order to analyses the application of good
ideas which are required for the management of innovation
Between 2015 and 2019, the residential building industry grew at a CAGR of 2.9 percent in
volume terms. In terms of size, the commercial building construction market is projected to
develop at a CAGR of 7.6% over the forecast period. Infrastructure building is expected to be
worth GBP 54.2 billion in 2019, representing a 4.9 percent CAGR over the review period. The
COVID-19 epidemic has had a major effect on the building industry in the United Kingdom. In
the short to medium term, the pandemic is likely to have an effect on development in key
industries, and recovery will be gradual. The residential and commercial construction sectors will
be the hardest hit, while the infrastructure construction sector will benefit.
Role of construction client, policy makers and universities for driving innovation
Governmental studies into the consistency and performance of the Swedish building industry can
be dated back many decades, and considering the wide range of topics covered, some criticisms
remain the same. The sector is often criticized for rising house costs and for being subject to
cartelization (and therefore a lack of competition), not to mention allegations of poor production
and productivity. In the early 2000s, the government attempted to designate separate strategic
testing areas (also known as "solid research environments"), which resulted in less money being
spent on construction research. Instead, universities prioritize more basic research areas within
the physical sciences, which have been classified as key strategic for Britain's position as one of
the leading nations in technology and development, due to strict funding programs; this has
found it challenging for both contractors and academia to obtain funding for research efforts
associated with the construction. There is need for managing and analyzing business

environment in order to focus upon tools and techniques of architecture. This is seen that
construction industry needs to have efficient way for providing people way for managing the
needs and requirements of clients. For a contractor, it is important to evaluate different factors
required for attaining the goals in efficient manner.

Many of the improvements that are occurring among PSFs, such as increased firm scale,
external ownership, and greater service/geographical diversification, are also occurring among
the larger CPSFs. The CPSF field is poorly reported, and little is known about the reasons for,
and consequences of, these developments in the companies, their customers, and broader society.
The literature on CPSFs is analyzed in the light of the larger PSF literature, and a series of
questions for future CPSF research is raised. These concerns include the need to comprehend the
effects of firm style on results, as well as the type of ownership that can have the most financial
benefits. The two government papers on creativity and research make no mention of the building
industry. The article on creativity, on the other hand, mentions cases of construction-related
innovation. This include the new opera house in Oslo's use of creative materials and designs, the
importance of using building knowledge models in construction projects, and allowing for
meaningful information exchange. However, as the study discusses various fields that are critical
for innovation in general, such as population growth and environmental issues, it neglects to note
the obvious involvement of the construction industry in assisting in their resolution. Construction
2025, Industrial Strategy: Business and Business in Collaboration was released by the
government in 2013, outlining the government's long-term roadmap for how industry and
government can function together to bring Britain at the forefront of global construction." The
building sector, which employs over 280,000 people and responsible for 3 million jobs
(10percent of the total of total UK employment), would be seen as critical to the UK economy's
long-term growth (ref. BIS analysis of Labor Force Survey micro-data). The government still
gets a decent deal, and the nation gets the long-term social and economic development it needs.
It has been analyzed that construction companies are focusing upon enhancing the use of new
techniques and tools involved within managing the architecture of any building. This helps to
enhance more efficient and convenience way for people to stay over that place and enjoy. There
is also requirement of providing effective ways to people that they can use while managing their

life within UK. Architecture plays an essential role within construction industry. Every
individual is involved within managing the designing, innovation and planning of construction as
it helps to enhance the customer satisfaction level.
